Re: f/u bad holiday gifts
I didn't get anything bad this year, but I once got an ornament from my ex-boyfriend's crazy mother. It's was a pregnant girl holding a book of baby names and one leg was broken off.
I threw it in her trash, in front of her b/c I was in a mean mood I guess. Now I wish I had it just to prove that I was given such odd things from her.
I gave the Paris kitch to my co-worker. She is throwing a 50th anniversary party for her parents (they went to Paris on their honeymoon).
I'm glad it went to a good home.
I also got 2 copies of the same cookbook. I was able to swap with someone on WC for something else. It worked out well!

what tha...?
how'd throwing it away in front or her go over?
I have not done anything with mine yet. They are just sitting around the house/garage.
oh. my.
Fine, considering I threw it away on my way out the door. No clue what she actually said about it, but I was like "Um...you realize this is trash, right? ...and I'm 20 and not married or having babies or thinking about either". (She was a big hoarder and we moved her stuff to like 4 different houses by the time this happened and I believe we were all trying to teach her the difference between trash and real items at this point in time. Can't quite remember). I am extremely nice to everyone, but that lady. She makes my blood boil. Even now when I think about her I get angry inside. I can't even imagine what I would do if she was my actual MIL!
The Chia Head went to a friend who's going to try growing something other than chia seeds out of it. The ugly scarf from my aunt was regifted into a friend's birthday gift (she loves it) Some books were given away to friends who helped us pack up. The pineapple cookies (I'm deathly allergic to pineapples) were thrown away. Other various items were Ebyed.
I used to hold on to these horrible gifts until the next year... then regift them right back to whomever gave them to me. Ya know what? No one has EVER noticed that I've done this. Goes to show how thoughtless these gifts actually are. They don't even know they bought them. I only stopped doing this because apartment living is pretty damn cramped. I actually found 2 gifts in my closet that I could have regifted this year. (both actually really nice, just not what I could use)
