Hi, I am new to this board and I was just wondering if any of you ladies filed for a divorce without using a lawyer in Rhode Island? We do not have any children and we do not own a house together, actually we only have very few assets and I'm pretty sure we would be able to split them equally. Any advice you have would be great. Thanks
Re: DIY Divorce
I'm divorced but I used an attorney.
Assuming you live in Providence County, you can go to the Providence court house on Dorrance Street and go to the Family court clerk and tell them you want to file a motion for divorce.
If you live in Kent County, you need to go to Kent County, Washington County - Washington County Court house, etc.
let me know if you have any questions.
