New to this board. Anyone getting the iPhone when it comes out from VZ Wireless? Wondering what their plans are going to be?
Re: VZ and iPhone
I can't upgrade until October, so I don't know what I'll do. I do like my droid incredible, but am currently having a love affair with all things apple...
Iphone 5 is still a rumor as to it's release date btw
To op, I'd wait it out. People need to do their research before jumping on the bandwagon to go with verizons version. Verzions version of the iphone CAN NOT do talk and websurf at the same time (not sure about talk and text) like AT&T's can. Not to mention, AT&T is in fact up grading from 3g to 4g and the transition will be complete by 2013 (some areas will see the upgrade as soon as this year).

Yea, I feel the same. The Smartphones on other networks work completely different compared to Verizon. They can't do voice and data at the same time. I use that feature a ton on my AT&T iPhone and I would be bummed that a Verizon iPhone can't do that same. As long as they are a CDMA network they'll never be able to "fix" the fact that they can't do it from what I understand.
Verizon will be able to do simultaneous voice and data on LTE/4G, but you'll need the updated hardware to do it (aka iPhone 5 whenever that is released).
That'll be great for Verizon peeps then!

I won't be upgrading. I like my droid too much to regress back to an out of date phone regardless of what carrier it is on.
The iPhone 5 is being released in July for AT & T customers only. Typically Apple only does one release a year and with the iPhone 4 coming to verizon in February they won't get the 5 until next February...kind of their way of helping AT&T keep customers.
Verizon's thing with Apple is henky and I wonder how well it will actually sell. They are only allowing upgrades on a first come first serve basis to those who are eligible for an upgrade (they're not allowing any early upgrades), and to new customers. It'll be interesting.
