Curious. If you grew up in Florida.
Did you go to theme parks a lot as a kid? Did you like it or did you get sick of it? Do you still like to go? How about the beaches, same question.

Re: Curious. If you grew up in Florida.
We never really went to theme parks, my parents were more into beach BBQs and we did that every weekend it seems like! In high school I went to Busch Gardens with friends all the time and never got tired of it. H and I had passes up until last year. We just never renewed them and figured we would next time we went. I am really into Disney and want to take my kids all the time. I don't think you can ever get tired of it, but some might disagree
And I am definitely not tired of the beaches. There are so many different beaches with different atmospheres. I live really close to Reddington, Indian Rocks, Madeira beaches and I know of spots where there is usually nobody else when I want to just relax and tan. Or going to Clearwater or Sand Key to drink, get lunch, and make a whole day of it is really fun.
I didn't grow up in Florida, but I can't stand Disney, so I don't see myself frequent that. My husband wants to look into Busch Garden season passes since it's only about 5 miles from the house, but I'm not thrilled, because I'm not a huge amusement park fan.
I did, however, grow up a few miles from the beach, and I still love going. Now that we live in an area where the water isn't freezing cold I actually go in the water again (somehow the temperature didn't bother me as a kid).

My Step-Dad has worked at Universal Studios for about 16 years, so yes, we went/go to Universal a lot. I never get sick of it, I love it. We went to Islands of Adventure before it was open to the public and rode the rides that were already open.
My Aunt/Uncle work(ed) at Disney and I've been there my fair share of times. The last time I went to Disney was in Feb. It was okay, but I had volunteered for the Disney Princess that morning and I was exhausted so it wasn't all that fun.
Uhm, I LOVE the beach. LOVE. Like, beach should be my middle name. Ha.
As a kid though, we didn't go that often to the beach. My Dad took us to the Bahamas quite a few times and that spurred my love for all things beach and ocean. We joke about living on a boat in the Bahamas. I think if my Dad can swing it, this will happen. He constantly talks about moving to the Bahamas.
We went to a theme park once every other month or so. It was awesome
I usually got to bring a friend!
Beaches, when we lived in Sarasota and Venice I was at the beach every week, in Venice I lived 2 blocks away so we'd usually go to the beach every day after school and on the weekends as well.
My aunt worked at Disney for many years and is now over at Universal, so I've been to both my fair share of times, although I never seem to get board. I rarely go to BG although it is right here... DH and I would rather make a weekend of it and go to Orlando.
I'm still obsessed with the beach even with my grandparents having lived so close to it for so long. I could never get tired of going and laying out listening to the waves crash as I read a book or a Magazine.

We went to theme parks often growing up, usually Disney and Busch Gardens, at least a few times a year. I absolutely loved going to them.
The beach...we didn't go to the beach very often, because we always had a pool, and my parents were much more the pool party kind of people. For many years, my family participated in a "Beach Night" where in the nice weather months, we would go on the same night every week out to the beach, meet a bunch of my parents friends with kids, and everyone would bring food.
I only started living in FL at age 10, but I'll still answer. From age 10 through about 13, we went to Disney every few months and I always loved it and never got sick of it at those ages. I didn't go to theme parks very often as a teen or during college. Now, I don't like them as much since I'm older and grumpier and hate being around "so many humans" as MH says. We went to Universal this past April and we left at 2:30 pm, when we'd thought we'd stay all day and have this fabulous time. Instead, it was way too hot and boring and the lines were too long.
I never really go to the beach, but I guess I like it fine. We just never go! As a kid, any time we'd go, I liked it.
I grew up here and went to Disney all the time as a kid. I loved going when I was a kid and now that I have kids I love it even more. But if I didn't have kids I don't think Disney would be my thing.
We also went to the beach a lot when we were kids but I am not a beach person. I'm more of a float in the pool at the resort on the beach kind of person! I like to look at the beach but sand, heat and sticky salty water just don't do it for me!
We would go about once a year to the parks. My parents loved Universal Studios for some odd reason and we'd go there every year and also Busch Gardens. Never Disney though.
We never went to the beaches because my parnets hated the beach and hated being out in the sun/hotness.
baahahhaha that is totally my H. I don't mind the crowds as much, but he HATES it. he doesn't even like going to the mall.....
I didn't grow up here. All of these things are still novelties and exciting to me:)
I grew up in the Panhandle, so we didn't go to the parks here very often (maybe once every 3-5 years). I don't feel like I missed much at all. Also, we went to the beach maybe 2-5x/summer and I don't feel like I missed out on that either.
Now that DD is here, we do want to take her to the parks but maybe when she hits 4 or 5. And as for the beach - we try to go once two months or so at least just for dinner or a stroll. It's still a bit of a drive, so it's not something we like to do frequently.
I think this all boils down to personality.
We used to go to Disney a few times a year when I was small. The beach a whole lot and I loved it.
When DD was small we went to Disney all the time. Now that she is older, she would rather go to US, IOA, BG, Seaworld or one of the water parks. So thats where we go. We have passes to BG, SW, AI and Aquatica so we go to those parks most. We went to Disney (all 4 parks) in one day last year and that was enough. We normally go to US/IOA at least once a year. We like them all.
If we are not doing a park in the summer on the weekends, we are at the beach at least one of the days.
Interesting. Thanks for the responses, ladies :-)
