costs so darn much for such little people!! Joshua has been asking to go for months! And lately he has been telling everyone that he was "going to be starting soon" and then they would ask me and I would have to say that he wasn't! Which that killed me!!!!!! I finally sat down and went over all of our bills to see what we would have to cut back on in order to afford it! Mind you I'm a SAHM so we have a family of 4 on one income.....not easy!! Moral of the story...... Joshua went tonight and was sooo excited to become a "tiny tiger"!! Granted our cut backs will suck big time but the look on his face made it so so worth it!! Can you believe it cost $89 a month for 40 minutes a week.....broken up into 20 minutes 2 days a week!!!! Plus each stage will cost more AND each belt testing is another $30 per test every month or every couple of months!!!! ugh! Why oh why does everyhing have to cost so much!!
Re: Karate......
We're not at that stage yet, but DH & I always thought karate would be so fun for Jake once he's old enough. I was driving by a local karate studio last month, and the "Christmas Special" was $100/month!! I can't believe that's considered a sale - eek! I don't know how we'll afford that stuff either, but when I think about how much we'll save once our kids are in school and not in daycare, hopefully it'll work!
Glad he liked it though - that's adorable that they call them Tiny Tigers

I was a dancer growing up, and as I look back on on the sacrifices my mom made (dad worked 2nd shift, so most of the work was up to mom) I feel so greatful for her commitment. I don't even want to know how much was spent every year on my costumes, shoes, lessons, the gas to get there, pictures....oh my. I certainly didn't appreciate her effort as much as I should of at the time and now that I am becoming a mommy (any day Delia..) I totally hope to be able to provide my daughter with the same opportunities. Kudos to you for finding an activity that makes your little boy happy and being willing to sacrifice for him.
