Anything H doesn't support you in?

H has let it be known that he thinks the fascinators I make are "ridiculous", and completely un-useful. It kind of irks me because I'm having so much fun making them. I let him know that, and he said he won't say anything again, but not to expect me to get an unbiased opinion out of him =( Anything you do that your H doesn't exactly support you in?

Re: Anything H doesn't support you in?

  • I model on the side and H at first used to brag to everyone about it till a few months later, then he made his opinions clear that he didnt like me doing it even though ive been modeling since before we started dateing (which i had to remind him MANY times). I took his best female friend with me to a shoot and hes chilled out about it since. He even started showing off some of the photos.

Dont quit doing what you enjoy because he isnt much of a fan, he will eventually come around when he sees how much you like it, he may eventually start supporting it more.

  • I definitely am a little ticked, especially because I support him in everything he does, and I've tried to let him know that.

I think if I start actually selling them and making some money off of them, then he might come around, but in the meantime, I am definitely having a blast making them. Maybe I just need to reiterate to him how much it allows my creativity to flow, and how much it calms me down as well.

I guess there's a lot of things I need to kind of lead H to knowing (because you can't really teach him, that much I've learned!), because he didn't really have a good home life growing up, and before me, he never really had to work at a relationship. The girls did everything.

  • H was super excited about my blog, and is really proud of it, but he gets frustrated with the amount of time I'm on the computer with it.

I guess we just have to balance these things in our lives and make sure that our H's don't feel like ALL our energy is going into our hobbies - I think that's where the problem was for my H anyway.
