American Idol review . . .
So those of you ladies who watched AI this week in its new season, what did you think of Steven Tyler and JLo?
I thought it was still pretty funny, though no one can come close to the smart a$$ comments Simon would make. I thought it was funny when the judges would start singing or drumming to the beat. Randy definitely took the "harsh judge" title. I will keep watching this season, DVRing to skip through the commercials and the dramatic story stuff when it gets too long.

Re: American Idol review . . .
I DVR it too, partially because Mike has no desire to watch it (so we watch Wipeout on Thursdays and usually just catch up on DVR show on wednesdays), but also because I love to FF through the BS, commercials, Seacrest running his mouth, etc.
I love Steven Tyler, I think his humor makes the show. J Lo is too nice but I love her on here, she's so sweet.
Last night's contestants, I have to say that 15 year old chubby boy blew me away. He surprised me the most because I wasn't expecting the great sounds to come from him!
I was SO overjoyed that Brett, the 16 year old with the long red hair, made it through. I hate to hear about kids being picked on and I was totally gunning for him. I hope all those bullies eat their words.
And finally, Paris, the mom at the end with the little girl w/ special needs. She choked me up a bit, not only with her story but with her song. She is pretty with a beautiful voice. I can see her going far, and I thought it was class act how J Lo went and found her after the audition and gave her a hug.
I really enjoyed it this week. DH sat through both shows with me. I LOVE J.Lo on there. She seems much more coherent and put together than Paula.
I think they have some pretty decent talent so far. Although I was not blown away by anyone yet.
Can't wait to see next week's episode where they stop in Milwaukee! Probably going to be pretty crazy!

Me too! I have always loved the great Steven Tyler, and J-lo does bring heart to the panel without being corny, as I always thought that Paula was.
If heard one more time "Sing within yourself" or any other version of "Be true to yourself" from her I know I was gonna scream...combined with Seacrest's arrogance and Simon's total disdain for just about everything, I got tired and just stopped watching four years ago.
But now? I'm actually enjoying it again...and I agree, that cute, chubby faced 15 year old with the sweet voice blew me away singing Otis!!
