Have you ever had pager? yes, even though my parents said they were only for drug dealers, I managed to sneak one in junior high.
Did you have your own phone line when you were growing up? yes - shared with my sister
Have you ever used a rotary phone? yes - my grandmother had one.
Did anyone you know have one of those car phones when you were young? yes, my dad had "one of those car phones" in his company car. You know the type that you couldn't actually use because each call cost like $4 each.
Do you remember the first times you really saw people use or own cell phones? Yes, "one of those car phones" was the first memory. I don't have a "first" memory of the newer kind.
How old were you when you got your first cell phone? 15 maybe.

When is the last time you used a land line? (aside from at work) Last weekend, at my parents ... we didn't get a land line at our apartment, because it was a short-term situation. We used it fairly consistently when we were in our condo, and I plan on getting a line setup when we move in.
Have you ever had pager? Yes when I worked in the IT world and was on-call in case the system went down. That was about 7 or 8 years ago.
Did you have your own phone line when you were growing up? No
Have you ever used a rotary phone? I'm in my 30's ... we had one when I was little
Did anyone you know have one of those car phones when you were young? No
Do you remember the first times you really saw people use or own cell phones? One of my friends dad had one. It was the size of a brick
How old were you when you got your first cell phone? I was 20, I only got it because I was driving between Massachusetts and Pennsylvania, and my parents thought as a single girl I should be able to call someone if I were to get stranded on the side of the road. The year was 1997 and I got a great plan .... 15 minutes for $35.
What was/is the most annoying cell phone situation you've endured? (dropped calls, etc) I occasionally have spotty reception in my apartment, which sucks because my personal cell phone and my work blackberry are the only phone lines I have ... I hate dropped calls when I'm on a concall or a call with a customer

When is the last time you used a land line? (aside from at work) I used my parents' land line phone during Thanksgiving weekend to talk to my uncle.
Have you ever had pager? Nope, but my HS bff did. At the end of the school day, she'd be like "page me tonight!" I never really understood why she had it!
Did you have your own phone line when you were growing up? Nope, just an old blue 80's looking phone in my room, but not my own line.
Have you ever used a rotary phone? Only at my grandparents' house in MD. They had an old yellow rotary phone hanging on their kitchen wall. That was the only phone in their house!
Did anyone you know have one of those car phones when you were young? I can't remember for sure, but I think I'd only seen them used in movies.
Do you remember the first times you really saw people use or own cell phones? In HS (probably around 1997) I remember that a friend's parents gave her a cell phone just to keep in the car while she drove, for emergencies. She kept it in her glove box. That was the first time I'd seen one in real life.
How old were you when you got your first cell phone? 18, my dad got one for me right before I went off to college. I didn't even ask for or want it, that's how out of the loop I was.
What was/is the most annoying cell phone situation you've endured? (dropped calls, etc) I got this horrific silver Nokia phone in 2003 through Cingular. Everyone seemed to have the same phone. It dropped almost all my calls, and I would hear other people's random conversations cutting into mine while I talked on it. I threw it at walls many times before finally switching to Verizon.

Are your parents as cell phone-savy as you? No, they never got cell phones until 2007, after my sister and I had to keep begging them. They still have those same phones now. Wow, I should really talk to them about getting new ones. They don't have a texting plan, which I really wish they'd get. They barely use their phones.
Do you ever clean your phone? Not very often, but if I think of it, I'll run an antibacterial wipe over it.

My parents never offered to get me one in high school and paying for one myself when I was a poor college student seemed really dumb to me at the time. Now I have no idea how I survived college without one.

(dropped calls, etc) When I was in college I had some dumb tiny phone from Cingular that dropped calls ALL THE TIME and never had reception. My car broke down once driving from Gainesville to St. Pete and I couldn't call anyone because I had no signal. I switched to Sprint the next day.
My phone now gets kind of crappy reception in my apartment, too, which is annoying.

Did you have your own phone line when you were growing up? No, but I had my own phone number. The phone would ring differently if the incoming call was for me. I don't remember what it was called or what the point was though.
