~Punky and others with dogs~
Has anyone ever had their dog donate blood? If so what was the experience like? Thanks.
Re: ~Punky and others with dogs~
No, but I would if a foster needed it! I wouldn't just for the hell of it. I'm not sure why. Hmm. I guess because it's not my blood to give?
Hm... that's an interesting question. I suppose I would if it was for a dog I knew, but not blindly.
I suppose that since she can't understand what's going on, she would probably think she was being punished or something. I wouldn't put her through that unless it was really necessary and I knew it would hugely benefit my friend or sister's dog or something.
I couldn't with my dog- she is only 12 pds, but I think that if she was a large dog, in good health and could magically speak, I am fairly certain she would agree to do it.
I feel that dogs probably need blood donations just as much as humans do and are very limited in how they can get those donations. I can only imagine how heartbreaking it would be if my dog needed a transfusion but there wasn't any blood for her.
