Anyone have baby fever? I have it a little bit, but I know I want to be married for a little while before TTC.
Re: Babies on the brain!
Yup...I want one, but also know we aren't ready for it, so instead I just look at cute baby stuff instead. I'm more focused on buying a house right now, and I know that's not gonna happen for a few (read: like, five) years, and I want to be in a house before we have kids, so...yeah.

Not just yet....prob by end of the year. I am in House showing mode and packing up all our belongings. Hopefully we have some luck so we can bid on our dream house. I think I need to be in the house first....if we don't have real estate luck, maybe I will change my tune.
I feel like I'm ready now, but H isn't yet - he wants to be in a better job before we start TTC.
I think if he told me tomorrow that he was ready, I'd probably freak out a little! It's definitely on the 3 year plan though
Where we met - Mount Isa
a small mining town in the Australian Outback. Neither of us are from there but we both moved there in the second last year of highschool. He was moved next to me in maths class to stop him talking. It didn't work.

December 2010 Siggy Challange 11/15-11/21: engagement ring.
Yes! A co-worker just had one and he is absolutely adorable. I could just stand and stare at him all day.
But we want to wait probably until the end of the year. DH graduates from grad school in May and we will move to a new city for his job. That means me finding a new job... and starting a new insurance plan. Apparently pregnancy can be considered a pre-existing condition, so you pretty much have to wait to get pregnant until you've been working somewhere for a few months. Plus there will be the worry that the new employer could be less than thrilled about me getting pregnant right after I start work. My current employeer would love if I told them I was pregnant (bunch of older ladies who just love babies!) but then I would have to continue to work here for the rest of the year for the insurance coverage and do a 1 1/2 commute everyday later in the year (and the pregnancy).
I got off the pill a few months ago and have been charting. I love being off the pill (sex is so much better for me!) but I know we really shouldn't try to get pregnant until probably the end of the year. We both feel like we are mature and emotionally ready, we just need to get our insurance/home/finances squared away. We have some savings though, so if we do have a surprise, we would just be happy.
I know I've said this before, but anybody thinking about babies seriously needs to see The Business of Being Born, it totally blew my mind about childbirth.
I'm with some of you and also have babies on the brain! I'm unable to be on BC because of medical reasons so we have decided to let nature take its course. We aren't preventing a pregnancy in any way so whatever happens happens. We would be thrilled to find out we were pg but if it doesn't happen then its not meant to be.

Yes and no. Because of our ages we want to try sooner than later, but house hunting is our top priority. We just got pre-approved for a mortgage so that's the first step.
I screwed up my bc during our honeymoon because I forgot to refill it before we left. So I just let this month go, and now I've started back up again. If anything, we wouldn't TTC until next year.
142 Ready To Celebrate!
I'm basically in the same mode as SweetCharade right now. I feel like mentally I've been prepared for a baby since I was literally about 16. The only thing I've ever known that I wanted to be is a mother. But financially, we're definitely not in a place where we could bring a baby into the mix.
H is really not into kids right now. Probably because he's like a big kid himself, lol. But he's brought it up himself a couple of times, and I've caught him saying "when we have our kids". We've even talked about how if for any reason I can't have kids (there are some worries) then we'll adopt.
We have some travelling that we'd like to do, and we want to buy a house before having kids, so we're thinking that in about 5 years we'll start trying. If it happens before that, then we have a tentative plan. Hopefully, we won't have to put it into use!
Sigh - yes Its something we both want, but don't know if its possible....we've been off BC for just under a year, but whether it hasn't happened due to my advanced age/conditon (cobwebs?!?) or Hubbys deployment/work schedule, is still up for debate. The doctors have offered to do more tests & start fertility drugs - NONE of it is covered by insurance!!! At $1000 a month, I'm not sure its worth it - especially since I won't see him for 5 months anyway!
One thing that really struck me as unfair is that, according to the doctor, women only have a optimal 72hrs to get preganant every month - and thats only if she's ovulating!. <sigh> So many variables...
I swear, somedays, it feels like I'm playing pin the tail on the freaking donkey!!!
I did before the wedding! Not as much now...right now I am just in "house mode" although we can't look seriously until the end of summer due to our rental lease timing. Once we are settled in a house I'm sure I will! I'm overwhelmed with my new job and I have to start my Master's degree schooling this year so I have many distractions!
