37 wk appt

Just got back from my 37 week appt. I'm negative for Strep B, which is awesome because now I can labor at home as long as possible instead of rushing in to the hospital to get antibiotics! This makes me ecstatic! I'm so happy my Doula had me taking garlic and probiotics :)

I'm also 1 cm and 75% effaced. Last week, I was 0,0 so progress is progress and less work to do later :)

I'm going to be full term on Sunday! Woohoo! Time is starting to slow down though and I'm getting ants in my pants waiting to meet her! I know I need to be patient though, because I could and probably have another 5 weeks to go. haha

Re: 37 wk appt

  • It's like the worst time as far as waiting goes. Hang in there! 75% is awesome! I wasn't there until a couple hours before Nate was born.

  • That's great news!

I'm hoping to labor at home as long as possible as well.  I'm REALLY counting on you to go natural!  You will be my inspiration not to scream for the drugs a few weeks after you have Margot.

true. some places will test you again when you are in active labor

they really shouldn't test until 36 weeks -- sad story ::

lady tested at 35w6d negative for GBS ( group beta strep ) went in to natural labor at 37w1d, somehow had contracted GBS, she wasn't retested at the hospital , her infant died less than 3 days later due to sepsis ...

  • Yay!!! My Strep B was negative too, I'm glad that has worked in our favor for being able to labor at home longer!

Ok, I just realized that you're at the same progress as me!  It's quite possible you might be meeting your little girl sooner than or at the same time as me, how exciting!!

I can't believe how fast this has gone for us.
