Pain afterwards

We have been married for about 1.5 yrs now and sex is good until afterwards.  We use lube since usually he is ready to go before he even starts :) and have tried slowing down and avoiding rabbit sex.  Yet, afterwards I'm always in pain, it feels like swelling and burns the next time I pee (to the point I just jump in the shower and yes, pee there since the water dilutes it and causes less pain...I think).

Any suggestions overall?  Do we just need a better lube?  Does anyone know how to turn your brain off long enough to get in the mood?

As a side question, who here has sex sometimes just to suffice the DH?  Full well knowing that you're not in the mood, but it seems easier just to go along with it...

Thanks, ladies, any suggestions are appreciated!

Re: Pain afterwards

  • Talk to your gyno asap. It could be a lube, semen or a latex allergy or a UTI, bacterial infection or yeast infection.
  • I am with runaway. . . go see your Gyne ASAP. Do not hesitate! Pain during sex could mean something serious!

I do not have sex if DH wants it and I don't. If I want it and he does not I do not force the issue. Sex is so much better if both of us want it!

  • Are you using a lube with spermicide? I could never tolerate that stuff--it made me feel like I was peeing acid when I'd go to the bathroom after sex.

Ditto the pp's on visiting the GYN. What you're describing isn't normal.

ETA: Same goes for heated, tingly, or "special effects" lubes. Ditch those, pronto.

Lube spermicides are the worst. THey gave me yeast infections.

If you're using a spermicide lube, stop using it; see what happens. It may take a week or so -- if the problem, persists, see your doc -- could be bacterial vaginitis or interstitual cystitis.

  • Thanks ladies, sad to say but you all sound correct.  I'll be making an appt with my primary tomorrow.
