Re: **indie**

  •  I read this outloud, hopefully she paid attention between stretches and kicks...Big Smile

I've had a few signs, I started losing the MP on Monday and have consistently been losing some every day. I think I have been having very mild contractions, but I'm not really sure, nothing painful but definate tightening in the front after back pain or lots of walking/standing. Not really anything too consistent. I had an ultrasound yesterday due to an odd fluid pocket, and she was still moving around quite a bit, she is head down, but not engaged yet. Her measurments put her right around 8.5lbs. Tongue Tied The MWs don't do internals, or at least haven't yet, so I have no idea about dilation/effacement or any of those things. In fact they haven't even mentioned doing one, even after telling them about my other progress. So we wait...the ultrasound helped a little, but I still find ways to convince myself that every little pinch, pull or tightening is it...I guess that's just par for the course at this point ...

I can tell you my husband is ready for it to be over too, I am driving him crazy with all my speculations, and disappointment/grumpiness aimed at him, when another day/night goes by without Delia. Embarrassed

I'll post about our adventure, and some pics as soon as I can...apparently she has quite a bit of hair according to the u/s tech...

  • Come on Delia!

  • Interesting that they won't do internals...my MW promised me an internal at 39 weeks in hopes of getting stuff moving.  Have they mentioned acupuncture?  That's another one I'm going for starting at 39 weeks.

  • Come on Delia! Come out an play. You've missed snowstorms, full moons etc. This weekend's cold should definitely scare her off :)

Here's hoping that she just decided to play around for the u/s but will engage not that the show is over :)

  • She's still hanging out in there...I thought for sure yesterday, but it ended up being a 24 hour stomach bug. Today I feel fine and a little disappointed.

Megan, they won't do any internals because they believe that there is too much risk of infection each time they do one, even with gloves.  My SIL said that is the answer they gave her when she was a patient there last year. It's a little frustrating because they really haven't mentioned an end to this long journey. They just keep making appointments, telling me to call if there are any trouble signs and telling me I am doing a good job.

I guess I should have thought a little bit more about what exactly I wanted to learn or experience through this pregnancy. They are wonderful women, and I trust them completely, but as this 9 months comes to a close I can't help but wonder if more medical advice/input would have made these last few weeks a little bit more bearable...

I doubt it.  There's really not much they can do, I almost feel like the internal they're going to give me (and, to some extent, the acupuncture), are appeasement exercises.  With Owen, I went 9 days late and would've gone even more but L&D was quiet on the Monday before my scheduled induction, so they called me in.  They prefer to let nature take its course, which I totally understand.  The end of pregnancy makes you anxious and really uncomfortable, but unfortunately, I think it just is what it is.

Of course, in my case this time, they are also really trying to help me succeed with the VBAC, so they're anxious for me to go into labor.  After having a c-section, you can't be induced for subsequent pregnancies.  So, if I don't go into labor on my own, I'm headed for another C.  Also, given Owen's enormous size (10 lb. 10 oz.), no one wants me to let this one cook too long (especially me).
