How do you clean your baseboards?

I wipe mine down with a wet rag every month.  Just wondering if there's an easier way to do it.  It's one of those chores I hate.

Re: How do you clean your baseboards?

  • I wipe mine with soap and water twice a year. Turn on some up beat music and you will be done in no time! Also, try wiping them down with a dryer sheet once they are dry. This will help keep the dust off.
  • I dust them with a swiffer duster whenever I think about it (which isn't that often).

I don't even have to bend down :-)

  • I put the brush attachment on my vacuum hose and go to town.  It does a great job and I don't even wipe them down with a wet rag anymore.

I agree that once a month seems like a lot unless your house is really dusty...I probably do it once every 2 or 3 months.

  • I use the dust brush on the vacuum and dust them off every time I vacuum.

Otherwise I use a magic eraser on them once a year when I spring clean to really brighten them up.

  • I use a swiffer duster or my little dust devil hand vac. I wipe them down every once in a while with a damp J-cloth.

  • I usually just vacuum them (and not that often) and then if they have smudges or look grubby (6" white baseboards), I use a magic eraser. Those things are amazing. I use them to clean a lot of things.
