I Need My Own Toolbox

Not that I do a lot of hard work or anything but do you know it took me over an hour to find a drill bit?  Anyway, as you know I blogged about it lol. Check it out if you want, http://manymomentsofme.blogspot.com/2011/01/i-need-toolbox.html. Do you ladies have your own toolkit?

Re: I Need My Own Toolbox

  • I absolutely do--and I keep it hidden from my husband, as he uses things and never puts them back. I also hide my paintbrushes, since in the past, he has used them and "forgotten " to clean them.

I do most of the small repairs in my house. My Dad was a carpenter, and taught me how to do a lot of household repairs.

  • I do, it was a gift from my father.  All the tools are pink and purple which I thought would deter my husband from using them, but alas he uses them all the time.  It actually has helped keep all other tools in the basement by haveing only these most needed tools in a quick 2 minute reach. I only have one rule:  If you take it out of the bag, you HAVE to put it back IN the bag.

  • I do!  I actually have a small toolbox I keep on the upper level with some basic tools in it for hanging pictures, upstairs projects, so I don't have to run downstairs every time I need something.  I also have a red metal tool on my workbench in the garage.  On my list this spring/summer is to get a pegboard and organize my workbench, it is a disaster and I cannot find anything on it!

PS my husband does NOTHING with tools, so he never bothers it!

  • Good for you! Funny about the paintbrushes, that would drive me insane! Chris is our big project guy but I do enjoy learning to do little projects throughout the house. Now I need to get my own toolbox!

  • Lol, wow, you seem to have it all together. I am definitely going to take the advice of all who commented and get my own toolbox.

You're husband is SO lucky to have a handy woman, I'm sure :-)

  • Of course he uses them all the time! It's probably because you keep them organized and in their own place. Good point, it is a good thing that it keeps all the other tools in the basement instead of scattered about. Kudos to setting the rules!!
  • Ha!  No.  The situation is reversed in our house.  I steal DH's :-)

DH is constantly complaining because I'm too lazy to walk out to the garage to get his tools, so I stash them inside the house.  I need screwdrivers (to replace batteries in DD's toys) and measuring tapes all the time for some reason.  Whenever he needs screwdrivers or measuring tapes, he can't find them because I've hidden them.  Oops.

  • Ha ha! Funny. You have good intentions though. Their lost to him but you know exactly where to tell him to find them lol.

     Have a great day!
