NH vacation recs?

So we are thinking of going to NH this summer for our vacation so we can go to a few parks with the kiddos and also have a lot of outdoorsy things to do to.  So far we are thinking of going to 2 parks and maybe a water park, sticking to the White Mountains area.  Any parks better than others?  There's Story Land, Santa's Village, Six Gun City, Whales Tale, and not sure if Clarks Trading Post counts as a park?

Also, any hotel or cottage recs?  We will need something with at least a mini fridge and microwave for baby bottles and food so a regular hotel room probably won't work for us just yet.  Am I nuts for bringing them on vacation in general? Lol.  After a very long summer last year we need some fun time!

  • If you stay at the Red Jacket in in North Conway they have an indoor water park as part of the hotel.

Can't help as far as the parks though - I've been to Whales Tale, but it was years ago.

  • I highly recommend StoryLand and Santa's Village.  They're both great.  Definitely allot a day at each one.  They also just opened a water park in Santa's Village this past summer.  I haven't been to it yet, but I would guess that if you plan to do that, you might need more than a day there.
  • Story Land would be my top choice, followed by Santa's Village and Whale's Tale.  If you stay at the Red Jacket you can do the indoor water park instead of Whale's Tale.  I wouldn't waste time going to Six Gun City or Clark's Trading Post.  Adventure Suites has some really cool hotel rooms and you can look into renting a condo at Attitash.  They are really reasonable in the off season and they have small waterslides and the alpine slide right at Attitash and it is 10 minutes from StoryLand and downtown North Conway.  We went two years ago and the girls loved it, even though Kate was just over a year old.  We rented a house though.  We are thinking of going again this year.

  • I've only been to Santa's Village and loved it.

I'm planning on taking Ella up this summer for a weekend with my friend and her twins.  We are going to rent a house though.

  • I suggest Story Land and Santa's Village as well. I wasn't impressed with Six Gun City and would prob skip Clarks with the age of your little ones until they're a little older. My family has purchased this pass before and may be worth it for some of you. http://www.visitwhitemountains.com/things-to-do/attractions/attraction-pass.aspx

  • We just went in Dec & stayed at Nordic Village Resort (http://www.nordicvillage.com/).  We booked it through VRBO (http://www.vrbo.com/) and got a great rate.  At Nordic, you can either book through them (1st link) or through private owners (2nd link).  We had 2 1 br/1ba condos that were lockoffs.  They could rent them 1 br/1 ba individually.  It's 0.5 miles from Storyland.  You take a right out of the Storyland parking lot & it's on the left.  Great place.  They have an indoor & outdoor pools & jacuzzis.  Echo Lake is close by to hike or spend the day at the beach.  You can climb Mount Washington.  We went to NH in Summer 2009 & it was great.  Ryan has just turned 4.  We did the Lost River Gorge, Clarks Trading Post (which Ryan loved b/c of the Wolfman & train ride), StoryLand, Alpine Slide & water slides at Attitash.  It was awesome.  I LOVE NEW HAMPSHIRE!!
