Rh Neg Mamas and early labor ?, poss TMI
Morning ladies, well something is definatly going on today. I woke up at 7am feeling rather ill, tried to sleep it off, but got up at 8 anyway. Since I have been up I have been experiencing what I believe to be the "bloody show". At first it was just tinged pink, but now is starting to show more tinges of red. My question is: I am Rh-Neg and have been told I will need a shot if I have any unexplained bleeding. Well, I am pretty sure I know what this is, but would you call your MW/Dr., for the "bloody show" ? I'm not really feeling very crampy and Delia is still wiggling away...just trying to decide what to do next...

YEAHHHHH!!! CMON DEIIA! Since you are 40 weeks preg, lost your plug already....I wouldn't say this is unexplained. I got up to pee and started my bloody show, then contractions started. They were just a bit crampy at first but then got worse (duh! lol). So I might just call and let them know you believe that you have started labor etc, and just ask what they think you should do next.
just keep us posted!!! good luck
Well I just called, I was told not to worry about the Rh factor yet and that it might be a tear in the amniotic sack and I might be leaking fluid. So for now wait it out and see what happens. I am supposed to check back in around 2pm, and they will decide then if they want me to come in to check for amniotic fluid. So we wait....
Thanks for the advice...I guess I just needed more confirmation that this was something rather than the stomach bug that took over my body on Friday and made me believe I was having contractions all day....I will keep you posted..
Am I remembering things wrong? I had my Rhogam shot at 28 weeks (with Owen and again this time), and I thought that was that until the baby was born/tested for positive blood. What's the concern during labor?
I think this sounds like a good sign that you're on your way! C'mon Delia...make your entrance into the world!!!
mmCA: Rhogam only lasts for 12 weeks-- if you go longer, you get another shot of Rhogam. If you have trauma where the maternal blood might mix with the baby's blood, you get Rhogam. SOP, at least at CMMC. Usually, the issue is with the 2nd child, not the first (unless there's mixing of blood before the delivery).
As for Delia: it sounds like you lost your mucus plug, so I agree with the other ladies (who have actually experienced labor and aren't just studying it in others!): pack your bag and get ready! C'mon, Little Lady!
