Just wanted to pop in and say hi!
Life is INSANE with two under two, and S just left this evening to go back to work. I know this week is going to be crazy. I already have to call in the morning and reschedule my lactation consultant appt. because I have no babysitter for tomorrow.
I saw the post below, and yes, it really took NINETEEN hours! No worries, that wasn't all hard labor.
My water broke about 3 am on Thursday; S was out of town too! He made the trip home in about 45 minutes, and it usually takes over an hour. He got pulled over once
, but didn't get a ticket. Contractions were few and far between though, even when we finally went up to the hospital at 10:00. My dr. wasn't on duty, but our sweet nurse called and was able to get orders from her for the first several hours, until my dr. had to leave to go out of town. She did eventually recommend starting pitocin around 1, and S arrived 8 hours later! The really awesome thing was that one of my former sorority sisters was my nurse when he was delivered! It was so wonderful to have her there. We had originally been assigned a different nurse for that shift, but I asked if Gabby was working, and the girl went to find her. When she came in and hugged me, I totally lost it
, so the other girl offered to switch patients with her.
Anyway, i'll stop babbling. It was great - not perfect - but not awful by any means. My sweet baby boy is here, breastfeediing so-so, healthy, and sleeps wonderfully. Now L on the other hand....well, that's another long post. ![]()
