  This is so upsetting to me.  And it is hitting too close to home on so many levels.  I can't even talk to DH and don't know when I will be able to.  The families are in my thoughts and prayers.

  I know. My heart goes out to their families. My mom is a LEO in Miami, and today they are laying to rest the 2 cops killed last week shoot out. People have no regard for human life.

  I was finally able to talk to DH.  He said that there were 3 other officers that were shot but are not being reported by the media.  They are expected to be ok.

  Obviously our sentencing guidelines are not strict enough.  These POS' need to still be in jail from their previous incidents of breaking the law.  Between Detroit, Indianapolis, Miami and St. Pete...it's just too much.  These gang bangers are now fearless and willing to take out anyone who gets in their way.  They have no respect for society or the people who serve to protect it.  Lock them up and throw away the key...and in some cases, fry their butts.

  I read an article that Mitzi posted on FB last night that said there was another shootout but I think it was in Tampa. The policemen involved are on leave for the investigation. The suspect involved died. It is so sad that these types of incidents are happening in our area, and it seems like so much lately.

  Gah- I always hear these stories first from you ladies since I don't live locally.  After Ryan and Lance's experience in August, it makes me so nervous since we have so many spouses and family members in law enforcement on this board.  So tragic.  Lots of thoughts and prayers to the families affected by this!
