XP-We loved the house!

We're still under lease at our apartment (with the option to buy out), but DH and I went to look at a house yesterday with our agent anyway and it went great! It was the first home of a few on our list that we intended on also viewing and one that we just had a good feeling about. There is some work that needs to be done so the price would definitely need to come down quite a bit for us to feel comfortable with it, but homes in the area have been selling around 15,000 less than what the list price is and it's been on the market for almost 250 days so I feel like we have some wiggle room. With a tiny 10x8 third bedroom, no walk-in closets, no grand master bath, and an outdated kitchen, it's not the home I envisioned us in, but somehow it just feels right still. Admittedly it's grown on me since when we left we only "liked" it, and now we both agree we "love" it and can picture ourselves living there. I think we may not even go see the other homes on our list since we want to make sure we have a shot at this one without someone else swooping in

  • That's awesome. I love it when a place feels like home, you know?
  • Yay! Good luck if you decide to go ahead and put in an offer!

House hunting is a little bit like wedding dress shopping eh? It might not be what you started off wanting, but sometimes you just have to go with your gut and go for it when it feels right Smile

  • Good luck! I'm with ringy. When we found our house it definitely was not what I had envisioned but it became our dream home and we definitely love it now.
  • Good luck! It is nice to find a place that just seems to fit!

  • Good luck!! Hope you guys get it. I know what you mean about your gut feeling. I usually just go with it and things turn out to be great.

  • Sounds great - feeling like it's home is one of the most important things, I would think. Although, given that it's been on the market for so long, I would think you have some time to go see the other places too.  Good luck!

  • I think it's great you found a place that feels like home. You should definitely still check out the other places, though. If they've been on the market that long and are still that overpriced, then chances are that they don't want to give the wiggle room. You might as well have some backups in place just in case. Good luck!
