I don't get to post much - barely at all these days.... but I have been a knottie/nestie for a long time, since 2003 (this is my 3rd name on here I think).
My DH is an officer with SPPD. The two men who tragically lost their lives today - were personal friends of my DH.
This hits home more than I can even begin to describe. I was upset when Ofc's Kocab and Curtis were killed in June, and when Cpl. Roberts was killed in 2009. My DH attended their funerals.
For tragedy to have now befallen two of our own.... there are no words. I am so shaken up I want to vomit. I am incredibly thankful that my DH was home and safe at the time, but I am devastated that this has happened and my heart goes out to their wives and families.
Please pray for the officer and sergeant's families, and for all of the men and women who protect us and put their lives on the line on a daily basis.

Re: I feel like I have to vomit
You should come around here more! Many of us are LEO wives or relatives and are very supportive. MH is a Manatee County Deputy and I have an Uncle with SPPD and another with TPD. There was a bit of a panic since my uncle was working this morning and hadn't been heard from. He is thankfully safe. I'll PM you his name, maybe we 'know' each other.
It seems this is happening too often lately and it's so tragic. I can only imagine what those families are going through right now and my heart absolutely breaks for them. Many T&Ps for everyone, including you and your H lolc.

Ditto to wanting to vomit. It is just disgusting that this happens so often.
I agree, you should come around more often! My H is a Border Patrol Agent (we live in TX) and I understand how you feel. Not too long ago a BP Agent was hit by a Semi and lost both of his legs, it was devastating to hear
But lately, at my H's BP station, they have had a few suicides this past year. Those are also devastating as well as confusing.
The two St. Pete officers are in the my T&P
