  • Yay! It's so enlightening. It doesn't make the fussy phases any shorter, but it's more endurable knowing what's going on and about how long it will last.

  • I think knowing how long anything is going to last makes it more bearable. (Ex. I like running on a treadmill because I like to stare at the minutes going by or the distance I've run.)

I like that the book is research based and isn't preachy (from what I've heard). May started having serious sleep issues on Friday night (right at week 16) and I was just glad that most of the girls on my bump board had already gone through this phase so I know it's a) not my fault in some way and b)not going to last forever.

  • The only part I didn't like is the first chapter about bonding in the hospital, and how evil nurses are - their only goal is to separate you from the baby, for trivial reasons like life-threatening health concerns. I got really annoyed with the testimonials in that section...

  • Thanks for the warning. If I had read the chapter without you saying that I might have not read the rest of the book. I get easily turned off by crap like that.

Can I just skip that chapter or does it need to be read to understand the rest of the book?

  • Just looked back at the book - chapter 1 is actually an overview and chapter 2 is the annoying one. Chapter 2 is about the newborn stage, which you're way past by now, so you won't miss anything if you skip it.

  • Thank you so much for looking that up for me!
