Re: Winter Poll
Favorite food: Stuffed Acorn Squash http://find.myrecipes.com/recipes/recipefinder.dyn?action=displayRecipe&recipe_id=10000000659295
Favorite snow day activity: Reading a book curled up on the couch or cooking in bulk. I LOVE knowing that I have nothing pressing to do those days.
Superbowl: We're hosting a party for my grad class and spouses, SO's, friends, etc. I'm making beer chili and mole chili along with corn bread and some crazy good carnitas pork with tortilla chips
Valentine's Day: Usually we don't do anything but this year H surprised me with tickets to the Melting Point (the music lounge/bar at our wedding venue) to see Francine Reed, an Atlanta jazz singer, and a 5 course dinner from the place that did our amazing wedding food. I'm super excited to go.
Winter Fashion Item: I really really want a new pea coat, but since that's out of the budget, I'd love to get my hands on one of these: http://www.etsy.com/listing/66567936/winter-headband-dusty-rose?ref=sr_gallery_36&ga_search_query=crocheted%2Bheadband&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_page=2
What is your favorite winter food (post the recipe if it's something that you make)? Potato Soup! YUMM Potatoes, and a 1:1 of flour and butter
Favorite snow day activity? Drinking apple cider and watching TV/movies
Are you going to watch the Superbowl? Anyone hosting a party? Yes, although I will mostly be talking. Another woman in my neighborhood is hosting a party for all spouses with a deployed husband. I'm really excited!
Do you celebrate/recognize Valentine's day? If so, do you have plans? Nope
PIP or LIP one winter fashion item you really want http://www.fashiondaydreams.com/2008/12/warm-clothes-we-might-walk-lot-too.html I love the over the knee socks/boots with shorts or a skirt

What is your favorite winter food (post the recipe if it's something that you make)? Stuffed Green peppers (need to write it down, it's still in my head)
Favorite snow day activity? Snowmobiling.
Are you going to watch the Superbowl? Anyone hosting a party? Of course! The Pack is in! Maybe, or go to the nearest bar and party like a rockstar.
Do you celebrate/recognize Valentine's day? If so, do you have plans? Somewhat, usually we just go to dinner.
PIP or LIP one winter fashion item you really want Can't think of one right now that's winter related. I love shoes so any pair of shoes will do.
Ugh, H is watching football too. Soooo boring!
What is your favorite winter food (post the recipe if it's something that you make)?
Honestly, I don't have one. I don't really "cook" so I don't have any recipes to share, horrible, I know. I guess I like soup way more in the winter than summer lol.
Favorite snow day activity?
Staying inside
Are you going to watch the Superbowl? Anyone hosting a party?
Unfortunately, probably yes.
Do you celebrate/recognize Valentine's day? If so, do you have plans?
Eh, we're more into give gifts whenever, save for something big or some upcoming trip. Sometimes we celebrate big and other times we don't. This year, we're in the saving for Europe this summer.

I really want a pair of new boots. I kind of have my eye on these: http://www.uggaustralia.com/ProductDetails.aspx?gID=w&productID=3066&model=Lattice Cardy
If the link doesn't work they are Uggs, the new Lattice Cardy. I think I like black because it goes with everything, but I'm sort of in love the colors too????

I have a fleece that I love from them. And what I hear is that they do some cool stuff for nature and wildlife
Yep they do
They're pretty much just an awesome company lol
What is your favorite winter food (post the recipe if it's something that you make)? I love making anything in the crock pot, but a thick beef stew takes the cake.
Favorite snow day activity? Stay in pajamas or sweatpants all day and snuggle on the couch.
Are you going to watch the Superbowl? Anyone hosting a party? Yes and yes! I'm really glad I'm not emotionally invested in either of the teams, makes it more enjoyable, I think.
Do you celebrate/recognize Valentine's day? If so, do you have plans? We usually get each other cards and maybe go out to dinner, but I'll probably just make something nice at home this year. We're doing a big 2 days next week in NYC so I don't see the need for going out again 2 weeks later.

Favorite food: I don't really have a favorite winter food, but I love all of the seasonal hot drinks, especially a good hot chocolate.
Favorite snow day activity: If it's snowy but decent outside, I love to go for walks in the snow, especially if its still snowing and there's little to no wind (which is a rare occurence in WY.) If it's windy and nasty, then I'm all for cuddling up with a good book, a cup of cocoa and a blanket.
Superbowl: I wish I could host a party, but all of our new friends out here have kids, and we're just really not set up to entertain kiddos. Hopefully one of the other wives will do a party, but I haven't heard anything definite.
Valentine's Day: We are going home for Valentine's Day. Not for V-day itself, that just happens to be when we get to go home. Maybe we'll end up doing a double date with some of our friends back home, we haven't really made a lot of firm plans for the trip. We tend to normally not do much though.
Winter Fashion Item: I am not a big fashion person, but now that this LO has made it so that none of my coats button anymore, I would love something along these lines to tide me over 'til spring.

Favorite winter food: anything in the crock pot! This is one of my favorites (and it's good for you, too!): http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Slow-Cooker-Chicken-Taco-Soup/Detail.aspx
Favorite snow day activity: watching TV on the couch with my H and my heated throw blanket! Maybe drinking some red wine.
Superbowl plans: We're hosting our second annual Superbowl party! I'm thinking about an anti-Packers theme might be fun (sorry, nvanhelden!)...but we'll see how much time I actually get to plan that out.
Valentine's day: Last year we went to White Castle, hahaha. We're not really big into it - and we're going to H's cousin's wedding on 2/12 (first family wedding since ours - I'm SOOOO excited! H's family knows how to have a great time!) so we'll probably skip it. I might get him a card; we've been doing lots of "to my husband/wife" cards this year just because we can!
Winter fashion item: I LOOOOVE fun boots, but I need them to be waterproof (super hard to find that combo). There aren't too many left online...these are the most interesting/cute ones I could find:
January 2, 2010
EDD October 10, 2013
That's okay. I will be on the anti-Bears side if it was the other way..... it's all in fun.
Lol that's funny because we're anti-Steelers. H's football team sucks so it's not like I can cheer for them, but it sure is fun to root against the Steelers.
