St. Pete Rehearsal Dinner Recs?

Hi ladies, I am hoping to get some good recs for a nice restaurant near the St. Pete Pier for a rehearsal dinner(my sister is getting married close by the pier in July). She has already looked into The Columbia and a few others places and they are about $40-$50 per person PLUS all the tax, etc. She is trying to stay around $40 a person(if not less) for dinner and isn't including alcoholic drinks so basically a cash bar. She wants a semi-private room that will hold about 50 people, but really isn't too picky. I know some of you had your reh.dinners in St. Pete area so figured I would ask here first :-)

 TIA!!

Re: St. Pete Rehearsal Dinner Recs?

  • We had ours at Orange Blossom catering company in downtown. They have rooms to rent and it was pretty nice. We had buffet style food and open bar, but you can definitely cut costs depending on the food and making it a cash bar. I am not sure on the price though. If I think of anything else I will let you know, but our experience with them was great. They also catered my baby shower and did a great job.
  • Ok awesome! Max they want to spend is around $2,000 so not sure if that would work, but I wil tell her to give them a call :-) Thanks!!!

  • I had mine at the Columbia but we also looked into ChaCha Coconuts on the roof of the pier. Parkshore Grill is amazzzzzzing but I'm not sure about $$$.

Thanks! I told them to look into ChaCha coconuts!

  • We did Cha Cha Coconuts...our budget was crazy small (because we didn't expect to have to be paying for it at all, thanks a lot, in-laws!), and they worked it out with us to get a selected menu down to $10/pp. You would definitely have more options with a bigger budget! The room wasn't private, but they had a nice area set up for us and there was live music.

There's so many other cute places downtown, I'm just not familiar enough with them to recommend any! Sorry!

  • We had ours this past October at 400 Beach Seafood and Taphouse.  It's directly across from Straub Park and the Vinoy (right next to the Chihuly exhibit).  I would definitely recommend it!  We had a private room, which holds up to 50, that included a flat screen TV that we put a slideshow of pics on.  It even has private bathrooms! :)

They made us personalized menus with 3 entree options (we had Salmon, Sirloin, or chicken), a salad, and they gave us a cake table and we brought our own cake.  All this for around $20 pp (not including alcoholic bevs).  They will set up the room any way you want.  There is NO CHARGE to reserve the room either!  Here's the website for more info. http://400beachseafood.com/private.html

  • Wow, I didn't realize 400 was so inexpensive for groups, maybe because it is sort of new? I think the food there is great!
  • Yeah, it's fantastic!  One of the best kept secrets in the area for large parties IMO.  You get a lot for the money.
