What is the point of a registry when only a few and I mean FEW people get you stuff off of it? I loved everything I got yesterday at the shower, but it was nothing that I needed off my registry and its really annoying! Not that I need to registry again for anything, but if I did I have decided to never to do a registry again! I am really glad that my mom and I did a little shopping before and got stuff I needed!

Wow, I can't imagine what baby gear you would need that wouldn't already be on a registry? I mean how many outfits did people buy? I hope you can return some of it and get what you need.
I always try and stick to the registry. I've only done personal gifts for 2 weddings and both the brides loved the gift b/c it was something they could use.
At least you aren't like my future teammate who just had #2 and they sent out a shower invite asking for "diapers and cash." Yep that was the email circulated around work.

i usually buy at least 1 thing off of someone's registry but to be honest, they are just an idea of what you would like not a requirement of what someone should buy. as pp said, people love to buy baby gifts so they buy what they like.
HOWEVER, now that i'm a mother, i have purchased things for my friends that i have found to be extremely helpful even though they might not have registered for it. sometimes it's hard to know what you need/want until the kid pops out. there are tons of things i registered for that i returned because they weren't useful at all.

This is exactly what I do too. If they didn't register for something that I found to especially useful I include a note saying how much Ryan enjoys/enjoyed it and include a gift receipt.
But MrsStreff doesn't know what she's having so unfortunately I don't think this matters. People bought her whatever they wanted anyway.

O I would love too! But they didnt give my gift recp. and I have no idea where its from! I am going to try and figure it out though!
That would annoy me to no end. I hate it when people give gifts (for occasions like wedding, baby shower) that aren't on the registry and don't give gift receipts. Heck even if it is on there I still get one just in case!
