anyone watch Mad Men?

I think it's on AMC and might be on the 3rd or 4th season.  We're watching season 1 right now and I love it! Great show.

Re: anyone watch Mad Men?

  • We're also watching season 1, but I honestly can't really decide if I like it or not. i don't hate it, but I am not sure I love it either :)

    Baby Sister is coming soon!
  • I watch it religiously. It's torture when it's on, because we wait for the DVR to finish recording so we can watch it commercial free. It picks up after the 1st season. Tough it out.. it's worth it!
  • City, those are my thoughts too - it has to get better. My H isn't 100% sure he's loving it either, but I'm going to keep dragging him to watch!!

  • My husband and I both seem to be born in the wrong decades. We're both fanatics of the 50's (him) and the 60's (me) So we appreciate the show for so many aspects. I love the fashions and hair. J notices the furniture (got figure.. my interior design guru) The first season was annoying because all I had to hear about was the typewriters. The producers boasted about the accuracy of EVERYTHING, however, all the typewriters they used weren't yet invented. My husband repairs, rebuilds, restores and collects typewriters, so it was agony hearing it every week. I was noticing inaccuracies in the shoes. I guess if you aren't snobs like us, you wouldn't even notice LOL

But the story lines get more interwoven and complex. You end up with your jaw on the floor a lot more as the seasons go on.

If for nothing else, I'd watch it just to see Jon Hamm (Don Draper) Me-ow.

  • Don Draper = H O T T! I also love the details. I love seeing the ashtrays at the elevator.
