My fb status

Just wanted to tell you ladies that are pregnant - it is NOT you!  I have this one friend who is on baby #3 (had baby #2 4 months ago and baby #1 13 months before that).  Every post is about whether it's a boy/girl, names, nursery, how it's so great to run and be pregnant, how it's so hard to have so many kids all together.

Yes, I may be bitter but damnit, I just want her to shut up!  There is more to life than your ankles lady!

    ....than don't keep getting pregnant....duh.

Anyhoo, I totally understand where you're coming from. It annoys me, also.

  • I KNOW!  The snark in me wants to say....if you used protection or kept your legs together, that wouldn't be a problem.  It MUST be so hard getting pregnant so easily......the travesty.....

  • Eh, just hide her from your news feed. :) I do that with people who annoy me and I am happier!

But I hear you. I have no filter, especially lately...I probably would have already made a snide comment.... :-)

  • It's getting harder and harder not to say something directly to her.  If I had AF to blame this on PMS, I would but unfortunately, I've got nothing but bitchiness to blame it on.

Yes do this, it will make you a happier person.

And yeah, if you don't want so many children...use birth control or close your legs.

how it's so hard to have so many kids all together.

tell her to keep her legs shut !

i would hide the hell out of her -- i have my SIL hidden, she became uber ridiculous when she was pregnant, even to the point when she went into labor she was describing what it felt like for her pelvic exams when the doc checked to see if she was dilated

Ick!   There is such a thing as over sharing. Was she seriously FBing while in labor?

  • Your friend's just dying for attention, isn't she? Like with the first one she realized how much attention pregnant women get, and then it was like crack, so she's going to be pregnant as much as possible until she finds a new way to get attention. You get attention with kids, too, but it's a little more kid-centered attention, while pregnant attention is more mom-centered.

If I were clever, I'd say something about narcissism and social media...

  • Add people oversharing to the reasons I hate FB.

Reason #421. (But if I were prioritizing, this would be in the top 10.)

I don't have a problem with people posting belly pictures or the occasional "I just ate double lunches 'cuz the baby told me to" but every effing status update does not need to be about being pregnant or the children you have. When they're funny things (like I love every single one of Trish's statuses about Riley) it's fine and entertaining, but when you're posting about how you need to get a restraining order on your baby daddy- TMI. Seriously.

  • My sister complained to her husband, me, or our mom. In person or on the phone. THAT is appropriate. A FB status every 10 seconds is not.
  • There is a direct correlation between unprotected sex and pregnancy, did your friend miss the memo on this?

I didn't take your post personally at all. By any chance did the friend send you an email, IM or respond to it?

Hang in there Ash, it'll happen.

Ditto.  I love seeing the progress of my friends' pregnancies (this includes all of you ladies!), but there are some details that are better left unsaid.  I have just one friend that I feel comfortable sharing any of those "TMI" details with, but we've been friends since the beginning of time.....ok, since 5th grade.  Anyhoo, she just had a baby 6 months ago and she's the one person that I know I can talk to about anything (and that is always on the phone or in person).

That gal needs to learn to censor herself!

  • See, I don't have problems coming to this board and reading updates because if I'm having a bad day - I just don't open them.  I've never had a problem reading any of your status updates either.  That's how I know when Denise had her baby girl (don't want to say names on here) and how I keep up with Trish and the rest who don't come by often anymore.

Never once did my phone go off every 10 minutes with status updates about how often your kid pooped today or how pregnancy is such an amazing and wonderous gift from (it is don't get me wrong) but really?  I bet she had a freaking choir in the delivery room too.

Did I mention she did a water birth...pictures shared on fb and all and it was "amazing".  SMH
