need help with bridal shower gift

Hi ladies. My friends bridal shower is coming up and I want to get her a silky robe and chemise thing. I got two at my showers (an ivory and a black robe) and they were my favorite gifts. I wore my ivory one on my wedding day when I got ready and the black on my honeymoon. I wear them both often now.

Thanks for the input, I'm a little stuck! I know that I would prefer the wedding-ey colors but I'm not buying for myself!

I voted for colored for two reasons....the first being that I would be more likely to wear that post wedding. The second and more importatnt to me was that in my family (Italian) and in that of many of my friends the brides mom buys her a white nighty and robe which is just tradition maybe its a local or italian thing. If my mom hadn't bought it I would have still wanted a white one....that doesn't help too much does it?

And I voted ivory chemise with colored robe because I like the mix of colors, rather than all one solid color for both. I love the variety - especially because in the future she can get other teddies/chemises to wear wtih the colored robe. If you do a robe in black or red or pink it will go with a bunch of different things!

I picked all ivory! I think it'll make her feel more "bride-y" on the day of, but I would also like to wear that all time...and it's timeless so if her tastes change she can always be comfortable in that.

Sorry to disagree I know that probably makes you more confused!

I picked ivory/ivory. Even if she gets more than one of those, she can have it for the honeymoon. I bought myself a white chemise for the wedding night (nobody got me one Sad

) and I still sleep in it sometimes, when it's warm enough. Colors are subjective, but I can't see anyone disliking ivory.

I picked "color", simply because as a bride she is likely going to get an awful lot of white/ivory things! I agree the color may be fun for her for after the wedding...you may still want to pick a pretty pastel, or maybe even a hot mama color like red, black or maybe even something with an animal print...

I can tell you that I hardly wear a lot of white lingerie that I got for my showers...mainly because (TMI alert!!!) I sleep au natural,and before bed I prefer the really comfy, cute tank and short pj's (from Victoria's secret - those also make a neat gift!)...Good luck choosing :-)

I like ivory robe and color chemise because it adds color but you still feel super elegant in an ivory robe. You are getting a lot of opinions here :P

Thanks for all the help ladies!!! Since it's pretty tied I am going to go with my gut with the ivory/ivory option. Everyone brought up good points which leads me to believe that there really is no right or wrong answer!
