I found out on Thursday that my Popie has cancer in his lymph-nodes. They don't know if it's spread and/or metathesized anywhere in his body. My grandma is VERY high strung and has serious anxiety issues, she's pretty much crazy. So anyway, Popie goes in for his full body scan today, but he's turned away because his blood sugar levels are too high. Yes, Popie is a Type II diabetic and pretty much has given eating healthy the middle finger.
Last night my mom told me that he asked his doctor if he has cancer, can his pacemaker be turned off so he can stop taking his heart meds and die of a heart attack in his sleep rather than from cancer.
WTF? ::headdesk::

Thanks, all
I'm trying to stay positive, we really don't know anything yet but my Grandma is the eternal pessimist, which is making it harder on Popie. And at this point, he's 84 and while it's not super old, it's not young and he can't live forever. He's already decided he won't do treatment if it's going to ruin his life so I think he's handling it really well. But again, it could be benign so we'll just see!
As much as it pains me to see Popie with all his ailments, diseases and complications, it really is what motivated me to get healthy.
That's really sad; I'm sorry you're going through this. He/you'll be in my prayers.
