It's completely fascinating, and horrifically sad all at the same time. The scientist in me is really interested, and the woman, future parent, an overall decent human being in me wants to mete out some serious justice.

That's so disturbing and interesting all at the same time. It's hard for me to wrap my brain around that and believe that it's true.
Oh I read that article about the 5.5 year old, when that 9(or 12?) year old popped out a kid and everyone made a HUGE deal about it. Probably because that is a big, horrible, sad, huge deal.
Can you imagine getting your period at 3? I'd probably have my ovaries removed by the time I was 20.
