My mind playing tricks on me..
As most of you know, DH & I are TTC. I am not full on charting or anything yet, but I do try to track when I ovulate (obviously! lol) so we know when to dtd.
According to my calculations (& pains!) I ovulated around the 20-22nd. To get to the point... today, I am nauseous, and i mean NAUSEOUS. So of course DH & I just straight to "pregnancy sickness" lol I know its super soon, but we want a baby sooooo bad. So, do you girls think when you want something so bad, your brain/body actually makes you physically ill?
Or, I just conveniently have the flu. lol
Re: My mind playing tricks on me..
I know that when I was TTC, I made myself believe that I was pregnant before I was. I would invent symptoms and signs.
If you just ovulated a few days ago, you wouldn't be feeling any kind of sickness yet, or any kind of signs. It's much too early. The egg hasn't implanted yet; but, I'll keep my fingers crossed that this was the cycle for you!

Crossing my fingers for you lady! I don't know much about it since DH & I aren't planning on TTC for at least a couple more years when we're more settled someplace & he's done getting his PhD. But I'm definitely sending happy vibes your way!
I've actually psyched myself out the complete opposite way before. My period was two days late one month back when we were in college, and in those two days, I had myself CONVINCED I was knocked up. I didn't want to freak Clinton out in case it was nothing (which was obvi the case), but my roommate (and future MOH) got to deal with all my crazy for two days. I felt nauseous, my boobs were sore, and I was super emotional. Basically the signs that I was stressed out & about to get my period made me lose my freaking mind.

**Getting on a soap box**
IMO-That app is a bunch of BS, I used it also and was gungho about DTD at day 14 until I read the book that Kearstin suggested, Taking Charge of your Fertility. Those apps and most drs are convinced that you ovulate on day 14 or around day 14, that is not the case. It might be for some people but for the most part it is completely untrue. Many women actually O after day 14.
Listen to me being all booky, lol! I barely even ready, but I love this book! So Shasta, I would use that handy dandy little IPhone and the Amazon app and buy this book!!! Hehe, but I am still hoping that you are PG!
**Getting off soap box**
I talked to my dr about taking temps and she looked at my like I might be crazy, from what I understand you have to take it before you get out of bed and if you get up in the middle of the night then you would need to do it before you get up. I am going to focus on cervical mucus and nix the temp taking. I wish I had O pain, maybe I do and I just don't notice it. My dr says that my levels are good and I am Oing but I still don't believe her!
I think I am going to buy the economy pack of Ovulation tests and go crazy.
I temp, and my OBGYN was fully behind it. I get up at 6 a.m. to take my synthroid every day anyway, so I temp before I go to the bathroom and use Fertility Friend.com to track it and go back to sleep.
Shasta, it's 3 straight hours of sleep before you get an accurate "waking temp" and if you go on FF's web site there's other tips, things that affect temp, etc. that are really helpful. Like, I tend to sleep with my mouth open, and so I might have to temp (TMI) vaginally to get a better reading.
Good luck, Shasta!
I am NOT TTC, and felt sick last night/this morning and of course that's my first thought!
The 2-week wait is definitely the worst; I feel your pain! Just keep in tune with your body for the next couple of weeks and try to figure out if these symptoms are truly there or in your mind. Easier said than done, I know. My fingers are still crossed for you, though!
Hannah, I can't find out the gender until 18-20 weeks, so I still have a while to go. I go for the NT scan on Tuesday (checks for symptoms of down syndrome using the thickness behind the baby's neck) and will get to see an ultrasound then... my first ultrasound! I'm very excited
I guess sometimes they'll be able to see if it's a boy at that point too, but it's more of an educated guess. So, I'm not getting my hopes up
Ah! I'd be the same way I'm sure. It can be your mind sending vibes because you want it to be true so bad, but in a week or so you should be able to better judge.
Here's hoping it's the little swimmers making contact!!
