Boo! I started working out of the new office on Monday, and DH started his position as custodian too. My boss said we should both be there from 9-6. I think he was hoping to help us out by carpooling, since it's a 50 min drive to work. After yesterday I wanted to quit both our jobs. It was the longest day ever.
So DH has to do all the cleaning, mostly at night. It took him 2 hours just to vacuum so I collected all the trash. Yes, they totally pay me the big bucks for taking out the trash. We didn't leave until 7:15, which meant we didn't get home til after 8! Ugh!
Thankfully I had a doctor appt this afternoon, so I had to leave early. I drove in myself early, and then got a call from DH that his battery died and he needed to get a new one. Long story short, he didn't get to work until about 3 and just left at 9. It's so stupid that he has to be there during normal business hours anyway, but I think I'm going to start driving myself in early so I don't have to leave super late. I hate being at work that late.
In other news, I heard baby's heartbeat today and the doctor gave me a prescription for a breast pump so that my insurance will cover it! BCBS said they'd cover it, but that the money goes towards my deductible. So that makes it sound like I still have to pay for it. I don't know, we'll find out!
Re: Work has taken over my life
that is a long commute, i'd want to work earlier hours, too. hopefully you can work it out.
yay for hearing the baby's heartbeat!
and nice that your breast pump is covered, at least some of it.
will you be finidng out the sex of babygator?
Yea! for covering the breast pump, my previous insurance covered a big chunk of it, but I haven't gotten my new insurance info (kicks in Feb 1).
Long days blow, it doesn't sound like carpooling will be ideal on most days. that sucks.
Yay for heartbeat!! What was it at?
I still am undecided if I am going to pump. I need to look into the insurance thing.
Seriously? Your insurance covered a pump? Yeah...my old one didn't. Tricare doesn't, either, but I won't really have to pay anything out-of-pocket next time we have a baby [I paid a good $3000 to have JJ, even on BCBS], so I won't complain about that one.
That sucks about working and those late hours. And the commute. Is this whole working in the office thing pretty permanent?
Ugh, I don't blame you for sacrificing the gas money to get to work earlier and get home earlier. I hate working that late too except for the occasional meeting- but if I was just in my office I would shoot myself.
That was my deal with BCBS, so I would wait to see if you meet your deductible with your hospital stay. I didn't (which blows my mind considering I have a $500 deductible), but I only had $100 left so I just had to pay that and then co-insurance.
We are going to try to find out the sex of babygator (love that nickname!), if he/she cooperates. I'm not sure what the heartbeat was at b/c my doctor never says. She just finds it and then we're good to go. Literally I only heard it for like 5 seconds.
It sounds like I do have to pay for the pump, but it goes towards my deductible. So DH wants to buy it first so we have less to pay after delivery.
