I am so so so excited too! Unfortunately we have to save $20,000 so it'll be the end of summer before we're able to make the decision. I'm hoping we can be really, really good about saving for the next 6 months.

What did you end up cooking over the weekend? We went out to Applebee's Saturday night so I could be good. Sunday we had a family thing so I didn't cook anything. Well, I did bake homemade cat treats (which Stryker doesn't like).

Favorite type of food (Thai, Italian, etc) Chinese (but I also LOVE thai, mexican & italian)

Shopping online or in the store? Mostly store

How do you deal with below 0 temps(winterizing house, car, staying warm, etc)? We don't do anything special to the house (well, Pat puts plastic on the windows but I don't find it necessary). We just have really good insulation and keep the heat up. I do start my car if it's going to be super cold, but we have a garage so I don't have to scrape the windshield in the mornings anymore. As far as staying warm, I just don't spend much time outside! If I am, I wear a heavy coat, hat, mittens and a scarf.

Does the Spring/Summer/Fall make up for the winters in Maine? For sure, although I don't mind the winter wither. I LOVE the 4 distinct seasons. Well, spring kind of sucks (I don't like rain and mud).

If I was to fly into Portland this weekend, what would be the first thing I should do? First would be to see Portland Headlight (famous lighthouse) and then shopping at LLBean to get the typical Maine stuff done. There is plenty of shopping and eating to be done in the Old Port so that's kind of a fun way to spend the day.

What do you like the most about the area of Maine that you live in? The variety. I have the ocean, the mountains, lakes etc. Plus it's a quick drive to Boston and even Canada!

What is your favorite vacation spot? Oh there are so many place I would like to go! My top place to visit is Italy, still dying to go there. But, of the places I've already been I really want to go back to Grand Cayman.

What is your favorite season? Autumn! Like almost everyone else here I love the crisp, cool weather and wearing sweaters and hoodies!

What is your favorite movie? Hmm...Harry Potter (any of them) are probably the ones that I could watch over and over.

What is your favorite meal to cook? Favorite thing to bake? I'm not a good cook. But Pat loves my mac n cheese. I do love to bake and I love trying new cake recipes. I grew up on box mix cakes and although they're fine, I love doing homemade cakes. I'm not a huge fan of cut out cookies, I think the rolling out takes too long.

Do you do any gardening? I don't. It's sad because when we bought our house there were a lot of flower gardens and I've let them grow over. I wish I could get into it, but I don't enjoy it at all.

What do you drive? Do you like it? I have a Ford Fusion and I LOVE it. We've had it for a year and half and I'm very happy.

What are you wearing today? I had to get out of bed and on the road in 5 minutes this morning (Pat had a flat tire that has turned into a $900 repair). So I'm just in jeans, sneakers and a fleece zip up.

I bought a (used) Fusion last April and I love it as well. Especially after this winter. It handles SO well in snow and ice.

Are you pursuing your chocolate/cake ball business venture still? How is it going? I'm not at all. Once I got promoted last year I have been too busy working to think about outside ventures. I really wish I had the time because I still would love to do it.

Is Pat still working a million jobs? How are they all going? Technically yes, but he's 90% at the college now. He only fills in when he has free time at the other fire departments. He loves his job at the college and he's doing really well there.
What is your favorite part about your D5000? I love everything about it! I'm obsessed with super up close pictures so I'd have to say the zoom lens.

Just by playing with it and reading some blogs mostly. I still want to order and read Understanding Exposure as I know that will be helpful.

What's your "guilty pleasure" reality show? Sorry, I have a major hatred of reality shows.

What's the best thing about Stryker? Everything! Ok, one thing - I love how soft he is, it's like kitten fur and I love when he jumps up on the bed and puts his paw on my face so I'll pat him.

What's the funniest thing he's done recently? Turned his nose up at the homemade treats I made him! He played hide and seek with Pat last night and it was pretty funny to watch.
