One year ago, just after starting wedding planning and just before my last semester of school, my first horse, Pepper died. I can't believe I've managed one year without him. I got him when I was in high school. He was my best friend and soul-partner for 5 1/2 years. We went through soooo much together. People actually told me to sell him because he was bad. I didn't listen because I believed in him. Know what? We accomplished so many things. I trained him all by myself- but he trained me too. He gave me confidence, hard work and determination. He really is what made me me. I miss him so much. His death was very tragic, and he was only 11 years old. In the prime of his life. I truly hope he knew how much I loved him.

I love you, Daddy...2/24/1953 to 2/13/2011
Yes! Our animals can teach us and shape us so much! I do have tons and tons of memories with him. It's just really hard to believe that that's all they are, are memories.
Thanks for the hugsss, Kim.
Big hugs....I am sure he knew how much you loved him. How great that you got even just a bit of time to learn and grow with a special animal! Horses are amazing creatures that take a lot of time and work, but also give a lot in return.
Thanks girls. I would love to share pictures of him! He was skinny and badly sunburned when I bought him. But he sure turned out beautiful!
