I also copied my sister on an email to get her opinion since she just went back to work and has a 4 mo. old baby.
She knows my IL's well and said,
While I'm sure Mr W would love to watch the baby, do you really want him raising your child? He doesn't listen to anything you say regarding your dogs (don't feed them table scraps, don't let them jump on you or bark at the neighbors). While it would be nice for them to see the baby because if they're like my in-laws, they'll want to be around it 24/7, it will make YOU crazy seeing them every day. Look for another job while you're on maternity leave in an office setting (even if it's like, a secretary, it's not permanent) and go with daycare, I know you don't know if now, but it will make your life a million times easier. You're not going to want to go to work at 4am when you were up all night with a baby. Just focus on finding something new, or suck it up for 8 more months and work on the teaching thing if you do stay in FL. Love you bunches!
Re: re: advice post
My Ovulation Chart
Yeah I think so too. While I appreciate everyone's advice here, and can reason with every bit of it, since no one knows my IL's it turns into a really gray area. But my sister knows them well, and her IL's are similar.
I just hope my IL's don't get hurt when we don't want them to watch the baby if that's what they're assuming will happen. And I hope they understand I'm not busing the child to their house every weekend, if they want to see it they can come to our house.
She's so wise. And correct, I'm sure when FIL finds out I plan to raise a vegetarian he'll be feeding it hotdogs when I'm not around.
You don't think that's a choice the child should make on his/her own?
When they're at the age they can understand their choices, they can decide. I'd guess by around age 5, before they go to school and are faced with making eating decisions on their own.
IMO (and with research to back it up) you can consume a completely healthy diet that is vegetarian, so it's not hurting them, and if you look into some literature, it's a preferred diet.
