baby bedding

Cant believe its time to start thinking about Carson's nursery! This pregnancy is flying! anyways, i want to get his bedding but i dont think i really want to buy a set because Rowan NEVER uses his quilt or the bumper so i dont see the point of spending the money so do you girls have any recs on where to buy cute bedding?  Rowan's room is jungle theme so i think i kind of want to stay away from that.. Maybe frogs, monkey's, etc.

thanks:)!

Re: baby bedding

  • You could always just pick a color for the bedding that you like (greens/browns/blues/whatev) and then decorate the rest of the room in the theme you like.

That's the route I plan to take with Gabby's new room.  We just got her new convertible crib yesterday -- we tried transitioning her to the toddler bed with the hope to move her to a twin by the time the baby arrived - yeah that didn't go well, so we just bought a new crib.  *sigh*  ANYWAY, I don't want to get a whole set for her bed, but will just buy individual pieces in teh colors/patterns I like and then decorate the rest of the room around it.
  • are you thinking sheets? since you dont want like a set...are u going to do a bumper at all?

we didn't get a set...we got our sheets and bumper and cribskirt from Restoration Hardware (it was a gift). we got more sheets in a coordinating color just from babiesrus.

pottery barn has nice mix and match stuff that you can buy seperately. it's pricey...but you dont have to buy a ton. if you just got like the bumper, you could get coordinating items just at babiesrus.

  • I would check out BRU but I even found crib sheets that matched Ava's set at Target which their sheets are only like 7 dollars and they actually went better than the sheet that was included and I know they have some things that you can buy seperately.
  • I am doing what PPs mentioned, buying crib sheets and a crib skirt in coordinating colors that I like and decorating the room to match. I can find plenty of separate sheets, I just can't seem to find very many separate crib skirts, especially in colors/patterns that I like.

  • I saw an adorable sheet set at Target.com that had hippos on it.  It was SO stinkin' cute.
  • I've been reading that Baby Bargains book and they actually highly recommend Overstock.  You have to type in the search box "baby bedding" or something for you to be able to find it.  lol.  I am hoping to nab a great deal from there myself.

  • If you have any crafty people in your life you could even have a bed skirt made. I've also been doing some Etsy searches and there is a ton of bedding available in all different patterns/fabrics, then you could just buy coordinating sheets.

  • Okay, I didn't even know you were pg again..!  Congrats! Embarrassed

As for bedding, I wouldn't get anything themed- keep it simple- use color and pattern only... and then do "theme" items in the rest of the room :)  Good luck!
