I am obsessing

over my NT scan yesterday. Everything looked good, no worries there, but the tech thought it most likely is a boy. She gave us a pic and was secretly pretty confident about it but the more I read up on it - 12 week "toilet" pics are nonsense.

I know it is super early to tell but I am such an impatient person. I want to know NOW, haha. I even got special approval from my doc yesterday to do a quick early u/s again on the 17th. I will be 15 weeks. Hopefully we can tell for sure by then. They told me Ava was a girl at 15w3d.

Looks like a boy to me unless thats the cord sticking out and going up... but it looks wider/bigger than a cord. haha

With a girl, you usually see 3 little lines. There dont appear to be lines there.

It IS early though and boy/girl parts look very similar then. But there is defnitely SOMETHING there!

Well, it definitely isn't the three-lines that you supposedly can see with girls at this stage. Do you have a preference or are you just eager to know? I know I'd be itching to know too!

It's going to drive me crazy if we decide to have a 3rd b/c I probably won't be told what the gender is if we are overseas as most countries don't allow it b/c of selective abortion.

I wouldn't trust it at that point. It's soo early. I waited until 17 weeks because I didn't want there to be any question about it!

It's really hard to tell since it's too early. All babies start out with a fold down there that looks like a p*nis but as they develop more, then it differentiates into girl or boy parts. That's why they recommend doing u/s no earlier than 16 weeks to determine the sex of the baby. I hope you get what you hope for, though, in a few weeks

My H refuses to throw names back and forth until we know for sure. So far he has wrinkled his nose at my boy suggestions.

Ha. I totally understand. Name discussions never went over well in my house. It sucked having to come up with both a boy name and a girl name. There really weren't too many boy names that were appealing to me. If Macy were a boy her name would have been Chase, which now I am not too fond of.

GL and I hope the name picking out process is painless!

I am a very impatient person, and both times I had to wait until 20 weeks. It killed me to have to wait theat long. I wouldn't put too much thought into it right now because it is really early. (Although, if I had to guess from the picture, I'd go with boy!)

I'm curious, too, if you have a preference?

I would love to have a little boy - to have one of each and also to even out the dynamic in the house. Either way, as long as he/she is healthy and has 10 fingers/toes I will be ecstatic to have another LO.

That's fun though! I am very impatient too. I'm thinking when I get KU we will do the party another nestie did where you bring the results to the bakery and find out what color the inside is at the party, but who knows if I could wait that long. I will probably want to know asap. Does anyone know who that was who did that reveal party? I loved it!

U/s always look like a big blurry blurb to me. You could point to anything & tell me it was a p*nis/arm/leg & I'd believe you.

I'd be obsessing too though. I hope the wait goes by fast for you.

If I had to guess, I would say boy. Our LOs NT scan they guessed boy and confirmed at 20 week. I hope its a boy so you can have 1 of each!

I like the party idea too, but since my parents don't live here, we couldn't. Since DH couldn't come with me to the u/s, I bought 2 bibs (Thank Heaven for Little Boys/Girls) and had her put the correct one in a bag. I told her to give the other one to the next patient with that gender. She thought I was a little weird, but got into it and wrote on the bag tag "Am I a Boy or a Girl?" DH and I opened it together that night. It was nice to find out together.

THis is my sister's EXACT scenario. Her friend works at the VA so she's going tomorrow to see if the 12 week prediction was correct. She'll be 15 weeks tomorrow. I will let you know!

I agree! That was such an adorable idea, Kim! That's really neat that you waited so you could share the moment with him.

This is me exactly, lol. I'd be like "Is that the head?" And they'd say "No, foot." IDK.
