So... what's new?

Ok ladies, tell me what's been going on with you lately...

What's new with work?  Family?  Life in general?

Any news to share?  Funny stories?  Pictures?

Re: So... what's new?

  • Still no job. I had a second interview and then they never called - BUT I am meeting some people this weekend that my sister does home health care for and if they like me I will start caring for them weekends and one night a week. So I'm crossing my fingers for that.

School is back in session and I'm starting to feel the stress already. I am very disappointed that I pay so much for this great school and then get stuck at a crappy clinical site where I don't feel like I will learn much.

Charli is sick. We didn't even leave this past weekend but Monday night she got a fever and really bad cough. I'm hoping she is done with it by tomorrow. I miss sleeping at night!! lol. And speaking of Charli ... she is almost 2!!! I'm in denial about that.

Skyler is such a big girl these days. I love hearing her tell stories and watching her play with her sisters. Love that girl.

Kenleigh is almost 4 months already ... what??! She still has reflux issues but is a good baby and I love her to pieces.

I was planning on taking the girls to Disney this May but since I have been out of work for so long I don't think it'll happen and I'm very sad about that. I know there's always next year but ... I've never been there and I want to gooo!! lol.

Even though I've been stressed/depressed/anxious about not having a job and being broke I am happier now than I've ever been. I have such an amazing guy who is soooo supportive of me (and loves my girls), and wonderful friends and family who have been so generous to me. I am very grateful for that.

That was long, sorry!! But that's what's up with me!

  • I'm a mommy again!

  • Jake has his evaluation with the Occupational Therapist yesterday. They do not think he has sensory issues, which I am so happy about. But they still think he could benefit from adding some sensory stuff into his speech therapy. The OT pointed out to me that Jake tilts his head to the right and that when they track a toy in front of his face he will only reach out for it if it's on his right side. So they think he has vision issues and we need to go get his eyes tested. They also think that he had mild torticollus (sp?) as an infant and we never noticed, but the tilt could also be him compensating for a vision problem. The poor kid has his 6th ear infection in 10 months, the ST and OT want me to push the issue with our pedi to get him into an ENT because speech therapy has really not been successful. He goes back for a recheck in 2 weeks, so I will def. try to get the referral from them then.

Audrey is one month old today! She has her well check on Friday, I'm curious to see how much she has gained over the last month since we was over her birth weight by 1 week old.

I'm working on Jake's 2 year photos today, can't believe he'll be 2 in less than a month! I'll be sure to share some when I'm done.

Here's a picture of Audrey from Sunday at 4 weeks old

  • Ok, let me try this again. (dumb phone)

I'm a new mommy -- it's a boy! and have been a nursing maid ever since Friday.  I'm working on writing out my birth story, but haven't had too much free time and I've got other stuff I'm trying to keep up with.

Things are great though and I'll post more later although I think most of you saw Cameron on FB.

MIL is here until Friday, so maybe I'll get a little more free time, plus I downloaded opera to my phone so hopefully I can post while nursing.

  • I am home today with a little boy who was throwing up last night :(  He hasn't gotten sick since 10:15 last night, but I wasn't sure what to expect for today and didn't want to send him to the sitters if he wasn't up to par...she would have taken him since it's been through her house and all of the kids have had it now.

    DH is home sick today.

It's easier dealing with a sick 2.5 year old than a sick 37 year old! (I'm sure many of you can relate to this one)

R is amazing though, other than the flu.  He's so happy all of the time!  He's busy, and funny, and smart and just makes us smile and laugh every day!  I'm a bit nervous about baby #2 totally rocking his world, but I think he'll adjust pretty quickly.

R's big-boy room is hopefully getting carpet this weekend, which means I can at least put him in a big bed then!  I've been worried about this transition.

I have another dr. appointment today.  Everything is good so far.  Baby is very active, much more so than Reece was.  I'm measure a little small, but nothing to be concerned about yet.

Work is a pain, and I'm counting down my weeks until March 25.  That's my planned last day.  My class this year is just a lot of work - they're exhausting.

I also started back up with my master's class this month.  It is supposed to end March 29...I may be pushing it a bit with my April 1 due date, but oh well.  I've had this prof. for my last 3 classes, and she's aware of my situation!

And...my funny R story: the other night DH took him to bed and R said "say it, daddy, isyoupenis"  DH goes "WHAT?"  so R repeated it: "isyoupenis" R ended up saying it 3 or 4 times and DH was starting to get freaked out...and then R said, "no daddy, like Barney!"  He wanted DH to say "You're Stupendous!"  in his Barney voice!  We're still laughing at this one!

    That is too funny!

Things are good on my front.  Quite.  DH started his second semester of law school, first went well and he is in the top 4 of the part time class.  I have a few brides and weddings.  Need to find a super cheap florist.

We need to do some house stuff... but neither of us have much time.  We are going to Vegas again in May. I am so pumped for that.  Loved Vegas last time and it is a very affordable vacation. My life is so simple compared to all of you wonderful Mom's!

    Simple=boring.  Lol.

  • Well DHs Insulin pump, CGM, and all his supplies arrived and now he is busy reading and prepping for his education...which probably wont be until March.

Monk has an eval with Help me Grow on Monday to see if he qualifies for some services, and we will know by the end of the evaluation what is what, so that is good.

I am good have to see a dermatologist about a mole that needs to be removed, kinda freaking me out though, I have had moles removed before but I had a not so great experience once with that and its making me nervous, on top of my already frazzled nerves.

Its Girlscout cookie time and my MIL is on me to find out if people need cookies...and I am like if I cannot eat the cookies no one gets to eat them...damnit....but if you want cookies let me know.

  • Well I agree with Tami about being busy with school. I have 18 credit hours between UT and Owens so school takes up my whole time. I did post below about the 2 dates I had Sat night. I have a second date with 1 on Fri, and I have to plan it. I have NO clue what to do. So pretty much school, work and a little bit of dating on the side. Oh and the gym, I need to spend a lil more time there, but everything else leaves it pretty much impossible. My brother made it to bootcamp, so now we are just wait to hear from him.

  • Still very busy at work...although I feel like I've been really productive this week and getting on top of things (could be because all the bigwigs are in the Bahamas for a board retreat).  One of my friends had an interview there today...hoping it went really well!  I just wish I could get interviews for more people...but it seems like for many of the higher ranking positions, they are trying to recruit nationally.  Ahh well.  At least it's bringing more people to the area, right?

As for me...I'm about halfway there and already feeling big as a house...as evidenced by this picture:

    image

I'm working out as much as I can...can't even eat as much as I used to...and I fear I am going to exceed a weight I never wanted to see in my life!  ugh!

Umm...that's pretty much it for me...work and my ever expanding midsection.

  • Tami:  Boo to school stress and Charli being sick!  But a BIG YAY for being happy!!!  And, of course, for having the cutest little girls in the world. ;)

Hound:  Good news about J not having sensory issues!  Hopefully if it is a vision thing they can get it corrected ASAP!   Boooo to the ear infections though!  Poor guy!! :(    And awwwwwwww, just look at your baby girl!!!!  Too cute! :)

Allobosc:  Congrats!!!!  Love the name, and I'm looking forward to the birth story! :)

Lisa:  Yay for DH and yay for Vegas!!  Oh, and the florist that did our wedding is pretty darn cheap and super awesome.  Let me know if you want her info!! :)

Dream:  Glad DH's stuff arrived!   I hope that it will help him!  You'll have to report back on Monk's eval too!   Oh, and I hope your mole removal goes very smoothly this time!!

Leigh:  Busy, busy!!   Do you need some ideas for the date??  What kind of stuff do you have in mind?   Glad to hear your brother made it safely. :)

Brandy:  You.are.adorable!!!!!!   Yay for productive time at work, though I think I'd rather be at the retreat - lol!!   Any chance you'd want to e-mail me about the open positions you guys have?  I know of a couple people looking. :)

  • And as for me...

Busy as heck at work with reconciliations and projects, and have been working 48+ hours a week.   Still taking care of the PetSmart adoption center for PPI, and planning has begun for the big fundraiser - Paw Hoorah - already!!

My volunteering with Graham's Foundation has basically become a part-time job, and I've been spending at least 10 or so hours a week on that stuff too.  I really love it though, so that's good. :)

I've also been taking pictures for friends here and there, which is a blast for me because I get to take pictures of something besides my cats, haha.  It's also helping me improve my technique with both shooting and editing. It's a fun hobby for me. :)

So yeah, staying really freakin' busy, but things are good. :)

  • I've been super busy at work and at home. A is doing great!  She talks up a storm, says new words and sentences just about every day.  The latest is "there she is" (after she pulls the blanket off her head..lol.  She also has come into her attitude and boy, for such a tiny little girl, she has huge attitude.lol.

  • at the moment, i'm fighting a sinus infection that has had me down and out for a 1 1/2 days... ugh

things have quieted down at both jobs, so now everything is pretty much back to normal.  j's mom's financial issues will finally be cleared up after today.... woohoo!!!!  that is a huge stress relief for both of us.  (she's in long term care and will be getting full medicaid benefits).

that's pretty much it for me......  nothing too exciting.

    Kris....I'm finally a Mrs! 10/11/08
