Scratch the job idea
They offered it to someone else. I am so upset that I even knew about it. I had my hopes up because I was told that they hire people on recommendations but I guess they had already offered it to someone else that another employee knew but my friend didn't know that.
Right now, I'm honestly contemplating quitting my job all together though I know that's not a smart idea. I am just dreading going back and my boss' stupid e-mails saying "6 more days!" really do not help. I can't stop crying about it.

I'm sorry Caroline. That is not very nice of your boss sending emails to you like that. Hopefully another job opportunity will come along so that you don't have to be there much longer.
OMG, is she really emailing you "6 more days"?! I would be so pissed about that, she's harassing you and it seems she has been doing so your entire maternity leave. She is psycho, and selfish. Drill that into your head.
If I were you, and my DH had a good job and financially you two could swing you staying home with Lucie- DO IT! If you do quit and stay home and realize its not going to work, find PT work.
