So how is it going with working offically full time now? Are you getting a lot of work done at home with B in daycare full time?
Re: bucks
it's going really well. i get a LOT more work done and Bennett is really happy at his sitter's house. he LOVE going there and half the time he isnt even ready to go home when i pick him up! that makes me happy. i'd hate to take him somewhere that he cried when i left him. i feel better about it knowing he's a happy camper
i actually went this morning and toured a preschool program....it's actually a program for 2 year olds that i did when i was a kid. it's parent-child and just like 1 hour a week. it would start in the fall but i have to register him now. it's fairly competitive but i was in it with the director's son, so i guess we have an "in". never thought i'd be one of those parents! and, getting in at the 2-year old program gives us a leg-up on their even more competitive actual preschool program. how is it possible that we're thinking school already?!?!
whats new in our zoo?
I have been thinking about 2 year old programs but all the ones I checked out are for 3 or 4. We are doing the Catholic school route so our "in" is being members of the church. It is expensive but worth it to me. Our grade school actually goes from preschool at 3 until 8th grade. That gives me a lot of comfort and I know I felt comfort having that when I was a child. It makes everything so much easier for the parent and child to learn the system of the school. Of course, our local public school while rated excellent is not at the top of the city. That is a big deciding factor in going Catholic route for me.
I joined the gym this month and have actually been going 3 times a week. I have almost lost the weight I gained over Thanksgiving. Slow and steady wins the race. I am trying to lose enough to ween off my BP meds (God willing!) by July so we can TTC.
I am glad he is doing so well at school. Sometimes I feel guilty and think she would have more fun at a daycare than here with me but I don't think it is worth finding a job for a few months before TTC. I think I will eventually get a part time restaurant job and maybe go to a local culinary school when my youngest starts school. I almost changed my major to hospitality management a million times. sigh.
not sure on the lupus front...i haven't been back to the doc yet. have to make an appt to see where i'm at. but i FEEL better, which is a good sign. pretty sure my BP has been much better. reminder - check BP
so we're listing our condo for sale on March 1...we're looking at a house this weekend that could be our forever home...we just dont know the inside is like bc there were very few pics on the internet. it's a one-owner home and was built in the 60s, so i'm sure it's super dated inside, but it's got GREAT bones. it's a brick colonial in a GREAT neighborhood. so, we'll see how that goes.
i wish i didnt have to work full-time but, thus is the reality when you marry someone who doesnt have a college degree and is 4 yeras my junior. he graduates in may though! light at the end of the tunnel!
bennett loves the sitter's house. he loves to play
honestly, the 2 year old program is just basically a play group..which i'll be happy to do bc i dont have many girlfriends with kids bennett's age. so its double bonus bc i can meet other mommies and bennett can meet other kids.
You guys and your dad too are all pretty good about doing your own renovations so I would definitely get a more dated house with great bones in a great hood. That is what matters the most. I cannot imagine having a 1 owner home that is that age.. that is amazing to find! This way, you can make the house in your own style. Pale hardwoods a la Seabrook, please!
This is definitely not our forever house. I am desperate for a mudroom/laundry room off the garage. That would be the best thing ever! I also want a true basement instead of the sunken tri level look. With all the repairs we have had to do, we are never going to want to leave though. Ugh. I am not looking forward to getting all this crap done but it has to be done. We figured since we need a loan for the plumbing, we might as well try to get one big enough for our cc debt and the student loans I have to pay that are in my parents' names. I am guessing the payments will be a lot cheaper than what we pay monthly for our CC and we aren't really getting anywhere on them.
yeah, im super pumped about this house. there is a country club down the street too. i'm just happy that the neighborhood is great, the schools are good, and it's a house i actually like from the outside. (it's in Worthington). so, we'll see how the showing goes on Saturday.
i'm so sick of credit cards. we're putting my income from my PT job onto our credit cards until they're paid off. should have done that a long time ago! we did AWESOME on our budget this month...even brad is motivated bc of it!
p.s. we're going back to Seabrook this summer...except my dad and sis are going and my dad's paying
i figured with all you had going on with the house, you wouldnt be able to go. i told my dad we couldnt afford it and he offered to pay. i mean..ok!
Oh I am so jealous! Sneak me into your suitcase. I am dying to go to Charleston with a babysitter. LOL LOL!
Joe already told me no vacations this year. BLAH BLAH BLAH. Suck so much.
it'll be ok. i feel like a jerk that my dad's paying for it...but he wants to go so, there we are! i'm craving that amazing cheeseburger already!
they added on to the house...i guess they put a bedroom over the garage!
I mean if he wants to pay, why stop him?!!?
