What did you think of the State of the Union?
Did you watch? What did you think?
My favorite place on earth: The Amargosa Valley.

Re: What did you think of the State of the Union?
I was happy to see him push the reasons behind the Dream Act, even though it's dead. And I liked his example of letting foreign students attend our schools who then return to their home countries to compete against us. He's right that it makes no sense when we deny innocent, bright talented people a chance to flourish here.
Also, watching the SOTU while on Facebook was a new experience. It was cool to see everyone's reactions. Though I got pretty pissed at people (who I didn't know) posting on another friend's site. You could tell they hated Obama and were totally closed minded and ready to oppose everything he said. About 15 minutes in, one woman said "he's said nothing of importance." Really? So of course I had to repeat a bunch of things he just said, including a focus on education and getting rid of tax breaks for oil companies.
I totally agree with this! FB brought intresting banter...and I too had a friend say "he said nothing of importance!" Maybe we have the same friend! WTH did they want him to say? I think he covered all the "main" topics, kept it pretty neutral, and overall did a good job. I mean, it wasn't much different than Bush SOTU (even if I wasn't his biggest fan). I mean, really, WTH did they expect?
I thought overall it was great-I love watching Obama speak.
