I have a bad case of the baby fever. I don't know where it came from. H and I talked about a timeframe for real for the first time, and at this point we have only decided to reevaluate in June bc we expect to have all CCs paid off by then. Then we need to discuss savings and how much we want to save before trying, etc...but it just hit me like a ton of bricks!! The thought of being pregnant used to terrify me, and now I feel so mentally/emotionally ready even though we aren't financially ready. Ugh.

GL when you are ready to start. I've always been head over heels about children in general and now that I'm going to have one of my own I'm sort of freaked out and worried I'm going to be an awful mother.

H and I are in the same position! Mentally ready...but financially ready seems like it'll never happen. (H's career is in finance so we've crunched the numbers A LOT!)

Next time DD is sick and needs to stay home from school, I'll let you babysit all day and I'll go to work. It will cure that fever in a flash!

The good thing about being mentally and emotionally ready is that you are in the right frame of mind for drawing up your plan for becoming financially ready. You can plan and work your way toward being financially ready, but it's a lot harder to force yourself into being emotionally ready! Good luck!

Yep, for me, I thought I would never be ready, but after we lost the first pregnancy, I was like, "I want this soon, so you need to tighten up already." And then, you know, it happened.

I think being emotionally/mentally ready is the most important part. Obviously having your finances in line is important, but you just never know. H and I have a pretty good financial situation, but now he's facing a possible lay off at the end of the year. You can't plan it all.

I guess I'm a bad influence like Blossom! I could barely wait until after the wedding to start TTC!

bahahah thanks:) last time we went to cosi for lunch, there was a little kid bday party and about 15 kids screaming some combination of PIZZABALLOONSPIZZA!!! I looked at the cashier and said oh, I didn't know we were getting a free dose of birth control with our lunch! Thanks for all the kind words:) we are going to be smart about it and get ourselves readier, I know you can never be 100% but we aren't quite there. It is just a big step from where we used to bem which was the rolling 5 year plan (whenever anyone asked when we planned on having kids, the answer was 5 years haha)
