Question for South Bay girls re weddings
My cousin just got engaged and is kind of freaking out, so I thought I'd ask here about where you got married and if you have any recs for her.
She wants something where you can do the ceremony outside and reception inside, ideally all at one location.
Any recs?
TIA
Re: Question for South Bay girls re weddings
I had my reception at The Ranch Golf Club in South San Jose. I loved it.

I got married at the Seascape Golf Course in Aptos. The wedding is on the 10th tee and the reception is inside. Beautiful location and a wonderful place to get married.

If you have specific questions let me know.
I got married at A Catered Affair in Santa Clara.
Ceremony outside and reception inside...all in one pkg.

Also, there is Freedom Hall in Santa Clara where my brother got married.

I dunno what her budget is but we got married at Nestldown in Los Gatos. It's definitely pricey but I thought it was worth it. We made it a bit more manageable by getting married on a weekday in the offseason, so that's something to consider. It's really beautiful and we got amazing service from them. Brooke, the event manager there, is awesome.
The ceremony was in what they call the "chapel" - a quiet, secluded redwood grove with a lake. The reception was in their barn - a big, beautiful redwood building. They also have a big lawn where you can do tented or outdoor receptions. Lots of great areas for photos throughout the property. It's really a beautiful site and we were so happy with everything.
Some other South Bay wedding vendors I highly recommend:
- Catering: PSRT. Meghan, their events manager, is really organized and sweet. The food and service were fantastic.
- Paul Burchfield from Big Fun DJ. Really awesome.
- Photographer Danielle Gillett, from San Jose. Absolutely gorgeous photos, not intrusive on the day-of. We just got our wedding album and it's beautiful. We were very happy with her and her assistant Celeste (who is a more affordable option if Danielle is too much $ for your cousin).
- We stayed at the Toll House Inn in Los Gatos the weekend before the wedding, and did a hotel block there. It's a really nice hotel, conveniently located downtown and close to the freeway, and pretty reasonably priced especially with the block rate. Their service was great and they totally looked the other way when we had an after party at our suite... The food at their restaurant is pretty good too.
- Our rehearsal lunch was at the California Cafe in Los Gatos. Good food and great service. We had a nice little private room right off the patio.
Happy planning to your friend!
Berkeley Faculty Club. You can get married on the lovely grounds and then have a reception inside the club itself.
