What should I get my neighbor?

I think I mentioned the other day that my awesome neighbor has been using his big snow blower to clear out our driveway for us.  We never asked him to do this but he's taken care of it for the last three storms.  He knows that DH is away so he's making extra sure to take care of it for me so I don't have to do it all alone.  We have kind of a wimpy, single-stroke blower and the snow has been too high these last two times to use it w/o knocking the piles down a bit--a two-person job.

I've already thanked him profusely a couple of times, but we really, really want to get him/them a thank you gift.  He does all the work, but he has a wife and 2-3 year old girl; they're all really sweet.  I've come up with a gift card to Wilson Farms as an idea as I know they shop there, but would totally be open to more suggestions.  I'm not really sure if they like beer/wine, what restaurants they like, etc. so not a lot of personal info to go on.

Man, I'm long-winded.  Thanks for any ideas!

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

Re: What should I get my neighbor?

  • I think a gc to Wilson Farms is a great idea since you know they shop there (love that place!).  What a nice neighbor!
  • I agree that your idea seems great!

If you wanted to go with a restaurant gc, I know phantom gourmet has one that's available at a bunch of different locations.

  • Wilson Farm sounds perfect!
  • That is very generous of you. I love the idea for getting somewhere they go often!
  • Make their evening and throw in babysitting for the even.  How often do people with a toddler get an evening out together?

DH and I thought about this but we're not that close to them, just good neighbors, so I thought it might come across as weird to offer.

  • Do we have the same neighbors? Haha.

H and I are heading to a steakhouse tonight to pick our neighbors up a GC. They're the nicest people alive :)

I don't think so, never seen your dogs in my 'hood :)  It's so nice having such great neighbors; we really lucked out in that department as the two houses on either side of us are generally pretty cool people.

  • My neighbor has been blowing our drive too! I've been baking them yummies. I've made hot chocolate cupcakes w/ toasted marshmallow topping, and today I'm making oreo stuffed chocolate chip cookies. Whatever you decide, I'm sure they are going to be happy just to know how grateful you are to have great neighbors like them!

Ps; at least you have a snow blower!Wink
