"I didn't know it was going to be this bad."

If I had a nickel for every time MH has said that, I wouldn't need to work.  Who's with me?

Today story: At 3:30, we talked and I said I was taking advantage of work closing early and was going home because the weather forecast was for 1-2" of snow an hour during rush hour.  I suggested MH rethink how long to stay at happy hour.  At 5:00, I texted to say my 45 minute commute took 1.5 hours.  Only 10 minutes ago did I get the call of "I didn't realize how bad the trains and buses would be."

It's hard to feel bad as I sip my wine and watch the pretty snow fall!  I'm interested to see how long the trip home is for him.  :-P

Re: "I didn't know it was going to be this bad."

  • Okay, now I feel a tad bad.  The buses are only running 1 an hour so MH has to walk home.  It's not a huge woe is me as we're only a 30-40 minute walk in normal weather but it will take longer with the snow.  Well, I guess he'll learn something from this.
  • Hey, he still had the choice to wait an hour for the bus, don't feel too bad. He could even have waited 45 minutes of that hour in the bar.

Sorry you commute took so long and that YH was a little slow to realize that he might have a problem getting home too.

Love this. As was said, he did have the choice of getting home sooner, so maybe on his walk home he was able to plan out a better way of getting home efficently in the next storm. Wink

  • You warned him and he could've come home early and sipped on some wine with you ;)
