My fellow mint chocolate chip lovers...
I know this is totally random, but it's so good that it's worth telling you! If you ever make it to Texas, please buy yourself a half gallon (because a pint won't be enough!) of Blue Bell mint chocolate chip ice cream.

My sister moved to Boston about ten years ago, and has seriously discussed paying $100 to have four half gallons delivered to her there (she said this is how much they charge). It's really that good!

Re: Kearstin & Hannah
ooo I'm a sucker for great ice cream!! The closest I've been to TX is Tulsa, OK and that was a work trip!
Let's make a deal; your sis can pay $75 for her share to get to Boston and I'll pay $25 for a gallon to be dropped off in Jersey! Yes?? haha
lol Kearstin and thanks for the heads up Megan!
My hometown ice cream store makes a fabulous MCC ice cream. I've debated having it shipped also!! If you're ever in Davenport, Iowa or Moline, IL, go to Whitey's Ice Cream (Ashlee can attest that it's amazing!)

Ah I'm so jealous! My local spot makes it white.. bleh. I don't even know if the green actually affects the taste or if it's a mental thing, but either way I need the green kind!
Hahaha! I bet she'd love that! She has a friend there who is also from Texas and she's trying to convince her to go in on it with her...but I fear that she wouldn't give up the additional two half gallons once they got there!
Hannah - I got excited for a minute because I thought you meant in Chicago, where I travel a couple/few times a year for work. No such luck, huh?
Surprisingly, TCBY has a decent mint choc chip...it does the trick when I don't feel like buying soooo much of it

Megan - I'm going to embarrass myself, but I have to share..
I noticed your ticker said the baby was the size of a mango, which blows my mind. And I thought, wow 19 weeks already.. and I looked at the next ticker.. and.. **here comes the idiot part** I saw it said "Vernix Caseosa........." and I thought.. WTF is she naming that baby?!?!
... sorry, I don't know sh!t about babies, cleary and sorry I judged that awful "name"!
Really? Y'all don't have Blue Bell? I know it used to be just TX, but since the invention of freezer trucks they expanded. I know that they have them as far out as California, and of course here in OK we have them. Yum!
When we were dating, Matt and I had a debate over the best ice cream brand. He's from Wisconsin and swore that Edy's was the best. I said Blue Bell. One day I bought both brands. Needless to say, I won. He now ONLY buys Blue Bell.
Hahaha! That kind of made my day, so I'm glad you shared that! When I started reading your message, I was worried you were going to ask me what that meant, because I couldn't tell you much more than what I got in my weekly update email today!
No - his name will be Carter Matthew - hopefully that one isn't quite as bad

Really? I thought it was still only in Texas. I also thought the same thing about Shiner until I saw it in California.
I'm glad you can get these items elsewhere (because they're just so good), but it's kind of disappointing at the same time. They feel like Texas traditions to me...or something like that!
The creamery is actually in a town not too far from where we live. I'm sure I toured it when I was a kid, but would love to do it again!
Oh - and I'm really glad you won that one! I mean, how could you not? And thanks for validating this post!

Much better!!!
From what I understand, it's a waxy substance that covers the baby's skin. It moisturizes the baby's skin and aids it through the birth canal.

First of all - Kearstin, thank you for that laugh! I really needed that! :-P
Second - I'm in FL and they have Blue Bell everywhere here. It's delish!
