I need some help! I am going to attempt to get my hair cut in my town but I have no idea how to say "layers" or "side bangs". I realize I am taking a huge risk by going to get my hair done when I can't exactly communicate what I want, but I figured I would be adventurous and see what happens. I can get by with my broken German fairly well now, but I don't really know "hair terms". I planned to take a photo with me and hope for the best, but I figure if I could get those other two terms down it might help a bit.
Oh, I am also going to attempt to get my eyebrows waxed, they are out of control and something needs to be done about them. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Re: **Mo**
Hey lady,
I'm really bad with that kind of stuff, because I never got my hair cut over there. I assume with a picture it should be ok.
Augenbrauen wachsen = eyebrow waxing
Also bangs = pony like a horse.
So maybe seitenpony for side bangs?
Ha! That is so funny because I asked one of my co-workers if he knew and he said he thought it was pony or scheitel. I guess I should have trusted him...he is gay, but then again he is also bald and wasn't too confident about it.
Thanks so much. I hate going into a place and not at least trying to communicate in German, so this helps. I'll definitely bring a picture and do a lot of hand gestures...I've pretty much perfected the broken German with crazy hand gestures by now!
