I heard on the news last night that we could have "Thundersnow" and thought how ridiculous of a name, let alone the concept.
Two hours later.. the snow was pouring from the sky, along with lightening striking across the sky, and thunder loud enough to shake the dwelling of my house. It was absolutely awesome. I sat in awe for awhile just taking it in.. so neat to see.
Anyone else have it??
And I saw this posted..

Re: Thundersnow.. really?
Allie, I'm jealous of the snow too!
My company closed 3 offices out east today. I wish that could happen for us.
Thundersnow sounds amazing!!

I'm also jealous of all this snow you guys are getting up there! I am going to Boston in a few weeks, and I just know there won't be any left for me (at least not any good snow for my nephew and me to play in!)!
Although, we get some pretty nasty thunderstorms here, so I can't say that I'm terribly jealous of the thundersnow (especially because, like a child, I'm afraid of thunderstorms). Just regular old snow is all I want to see while I'm there!

And thundersnow is AMAZING. I saw it for the first time last year and was completely in awe!
I hope so! I typically go up three or four times a year, but always make it a point to visit them sometime during the winter. I've missed the big snow storms, but it's always snowed at least a little.
I once went to visit my family in upstate NY and we got 25" of snow the night before we flew in...so that was nice for a Texas girl who loves winter!

I love thundersnow. I've been in it twice. My undergrad advisor research it, and i did one project on it. Its so cool. It was the reason that we once got a snow day in undergrad.
