happy new year, or not.(vent)

I am soo thankful for the year I had last year, working hard and planning our beautiful wedding. I am so glad we had what we wanted and it was amazing. But this first 27 days of the new year have been anything less than amazing. It started with pains in what would be the area of my ovaries (which are fine) so we got my intestines checked (they are fine) but im still having pain, pressure, pinching...This was all at the cost of $1,235 for CAT scan and blood work since its the new year i have to pay my deductable. Then come to find out and Im such an idiot (or the HR dept is) that I apparently claimed exempt somehow and now im hardley getting diddly back from my taxes ( thank God I dont owe). The money we saved for down payment on a new car went to my medical expenses and then....our car needed brakes and belts changed at the tune of $500. So...what a crappy way to start our year. I am just thankful this is the year we arent trying to save up for our wedding :(

I am happy for all you wonderful ladies who have begun the motherhood journey :)

  • *HUGS*  I'm so sorry you're going through all this.  Medical bills can really suck you dry.  And also, everyone's screwed up on their tax forms before -- I did the same thing as you a few years ago, and ended up owing (although it was under $100, I was a poor college student and they pretty much had to pry that money from me).

Set your sights on February.  With a January that bad, the year is bound to improve.

    *Hugs* again.

Oh I am so sorry! What a difficult month! I too feel like we've had to deal with some frustrating things. I hear ya on the medical stuff... I see a doctor every week if not multiple times a week. Regarding the taxes... ugh. I purposely do this to save in advance (I don't like getting a big tax return) however this obviously only works when you know you've done it and are stashing the extra cash in savings. Hubs just realized he accidentally filled something out incorrectly and the return he was expecting is non-existent. Crappy. I pray 2011 gets better for you.

Oh and I am so excited for all the mommies here but yeah, I wish we had an announcement too!

  • Sorry to hear about all of this and hang in there!
    Visit The Nest!
  • Aw, I'm sorry things are sucking so bad for you!  Hang in there, and it WILL get better!  Try to play the Glad Game whenever possible... you're already working on it, by pointing out that even though all this stuff is coming up, you don't have a wedding to be saving for.  That's something to be glad about!  Keep pointing out the good things, and you'll get through this.
  • Sorry to hear things aren't going well... and so many things all at once too is just overwhelming.  I totally sympathize ... January has sucked!  February starts Tuesday.  I'm trying to look forward to Valentine's Day, or maybe Easter.
