speaking of names

I just read Erin's baby naming post, and wanted to tell you guys about the new WORST name I heard about because it makes me laugh.  My BFF's husband works with someone who named his daughter this way:

La-A

pronounced "Ladasha"

hahahahahahhahahahahahahahahaahaha

Oh, and as for us, we're at a loss. This kid won't have a name until we meet her.

Re: speaking of names

  • That is just redonkulous!

  • Sorry, MM.  Unless you've seen the birth certificate, I'm giving that one the old side eye.  It's an urban legend, along the lines of orangejello and lemonjello (the twins, of course).

  • Hahahahahahahaha oh that poor child!!!

I want to name my future hypothetical child Tristan whether it's a boy or a girl.  But you never know, La-A may just creep up onto the short list!  ;)

  • Oh, yeah...I feel like I have heard the La-A thing, too...AND I just saw the Orangjello/Lemonjello thing on another nest board the other day...can't remember which one.

Urban legend or not, I am sure someone has done this - I used to work with a girl whose nephew was named Superman...ugh.

  • I've heard that one too. Too funny.

Yeah, most likely this guy won't be named until he's out either. Luke sure wasn't and I almost named him after his dad :)

  • Interesting!!!! Why oh why must people name their child like that ?!?!?
  • A friend of mine is in med school and he had a baby La-a come through on his peds rotation.

He also saw a La'Dynasty (3 yo) but one of the other students (English as a second language) called her Lady nasty.  Apparently the mom was not so happy lol.
